didn't know you could root weed in just a cup of water, surely you need oxygen aswell
what will it be growing in when its rooted?

coco is the quickest way i have found to root cuttings, fill a solo cup with coco soak the coco with canna rhyzotonic put clear plastic bag over the top to form a dome put it under your light in 70f temp and dont touch it for 2 weeks ive had 100% success rate with this method
how about cutting off more stem, using honey and putting into the grow medium?Cloning with just a glass of water is slow and unreliable. Both times I did it I waited 3-4 weeks for the first root and both times it was a single strand of root growing 2-3 feet long. Hard to start a cloner with a single root, eh?
Good luck, BigSteve.
