Clone flowering time

I didn’t take time watch that video yet. But I knew a grower on here at one point, that did lab testing weekly on some plants from the middle of flower till the end.

This is a pic of the mother a few days before I harvested. As I said, probably too early but I really enjoyed.
Wasn’t ready if that was a few days before. It looks like it still had the final “swell” to get through yet.

This should have been around 10-14 days longer.

Yes, you are probably right. Can I send a pic of the clone I have now? It is with 6 weeks. By the way, probably hermie cause no male around and got a feww seeds

also not ready and has approx 3-4 weeks left to go.

I can't believe my dumbass is about to try and correct Lion-O, but here goes, lol.

Clones are mature from day one technically.

You know I love you man. But what happens when the student challenges the master, lol.
As @Thundercat has already stated lol. Clones will be the same age as the donor plant.

by your statement that means when I clone the “topped” part of my seedling that is only 3 weeks old you’re saying that my clone is mature.;)

when in reality it would only be around 5 weeks old but 2 weeks of those 5 it was growing roots for.

so technically the clone once it’s rooted is actually behind the donor plant IMO as the donor at this stage would be 5 weeks old but the clone would have stalled growth for 2 weeks while it was rooting so it comes out of the clone chamber as only 3 weeks.

I would love to know your opinion on this findings:

Thank you. Did you get to see the youtube video?
Ok so now I watched it. Its a shame he didn't use a healthy plant for his tests. Plant health and the growing environment have MASSIVE impacts on how long plants take to grow and when and what peak potential they achieve. Every plant grows differently and requires observation of its specific needs and progress to determine the best point to harvest.

He found the same thing that I had previously seen from members lab tests. Yes "peak thc" may be reached before the plant has achieved ripeness, that doesn't mean that plant has reached its total potential though. There is more to "getting high" then just THC numbers. As the plant progresses through the ripening process it allows the terpenes to reach their potential and it gives all the cannabinoids that no one tests for a chance to reach their potential providing the overall effects of the plant.

I've personally grown thousands of plants from many different strains, and watched many others grow thousands more over the last 16 years I've been at this. I've watched soooo many people ask why their buds are airy or taste and smell bad or the high doesn't last long or have much effect, and most of the time its because they harvested their plants WEEKS(some times many weeks) too early. Time and time again I've seen people come back and thank those of us here that encourage harvesting when ripe.

THE BEST SMOKE COMES FROM HEALTHY PLANTS GROWN UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY RIPE AND THEN DRIED SLOWLY!

I echo everything @Thundercat has stated in his post above.

The thing is this.

it all depends on what YOU the individual are looking for from your cannabis.

if you’re looking to achieve high THC numbers then as @Thundercat has said that peak can be seen before the plant is ripe.

“Most” people are growing cannabis because they enjoy getting stoned! Period! When PEAK THC is achieved it will be lacking for those that prefer a heavy stone.

personally I like one hit and quit kind of smoke Lol.

If growing for medicinal attributes then go for peak THC/CBD etc.

if you’re growing to get stoned then allow the plant to actually ripen.

Ya. I misinterpreted what he was saying.

I like THC too I smoke flowers and take dabs all day, sometimes its pure THC crystals. Well grown and properly ripened flower is a much better high to me than just THC.
Same here. Dabs and concentrates aren't the same for me. I'm not really a fan. I like flower all the way. I loved smoking it, but I vape with my desktop vape 99% of the time now.

Thanks. I have waited for 8 weeks before but the weed feel less potent, more sleepy. But as you said is a matter of personal preference.

not just personal preference FYI, strain has a huge impact on the type of high you get, as does grow conditions because they will impact phenotype expression. Different strains do have different highs, and take different amounts of time to reach peak THC or full ripeness. Its not a one size fits all thing, which is basically the last thing that guy says in that video "each plant is different".

"Definitely glad you enjoyed it, that is the most important thing"

Thats what you said earlier. I agree with that earlier statement.

I wasn’t trying to change your mind you can harvest your garden whenever you want to. I was trying to help you look at the big picture of how the plants grow. Including the impact that strain and environment have.

You said you had “waited for 8 weeks before” and didn’t like the high of that weed. I was trying to point out it was more likely that you didn’t like that strain, and not that it grew for 8 weeks.

Yes, bro. I am very grateful for your tips and for the time your guys took answering me. I learned a lot with this thread.

By the way I have another 24k, a clone from the same mother, and will wait more to compare.
Will post a pic here. Looking forward for your insights.

I’d love to see pictures of the plant right before harvest. I’ve never seen a plant that was actually finished in 7 weeks from when it was flipped to 12/12.
you can flower of kush

Hi I flower my og kush clones in 6 weeks from the 12/12 change. The transition period from veg to flower is alot quicker with good clones than with seeds

Im well aware of how transition periods work. If you are harvesting plants at 6 weeks of 12/12 and you are happy then more power to you. But there is no way those plants are properly finished. Feel free to post pictures just like I told the other guy.
