Choosing a rosin press

Question time.

So I got 15% yield which is average minimal yield but to know it could be 25%, dang. That would be 8gs per 32 gs weed. How could I of gotten 3 more gs, more RH%?

How do people get a waterfall of rosin? Higher RH% and frostyness? I am trying to consume 100% my own so I have a bigger grow set up to look for these sorts of things so I can eventually get the same expirience I see the big guys get and make it looks so easy.

Different strain. Or press bubble hash.

I lost 10.5 gs super shark with the ordeal as I back track photos. Will 15gs yield any good, not thinking so. I forgot that was suggested but bubble is more work and money which Id look into later but I was happy with flower rosin.

Kickin myself for not reading the how to cure method pinned in the section but I do have more super shark coming. So its not too late to see if its drying related.

Maybe I just have to do bubble while I weave through strains until i find my keeper strains and really get to work.

I can dry sift with flash freezing weed and using massager outside in the cold to get .25gs per gram flower or two grams weed since this lacks frost. Or maybe just thc, was about to ask if thc % is correlated but not really. Heck I seem 7% weed frosty as can be.

I used to throw weed in freezer for 5 mins and then smack a screened grinder against itself over a collectable surface which is the simplest method I can think of that I am willing to test out on a larger scale, the messager to help with labor and not break stuff.

I really had a crappy pressing expirience with kief as shown though. Need to figure out what I did wrong. Need to make it pillow style and cooler temps and press less pressure.

Dry sift would work. I don't see it as more work or money. You press less and get more, cleaner product. You'd definitely want smaller micron bags though.

Does old kief make for lower yield? How about darkness? I have the right micron sizes I just cannot get kief that is fresh or not a bit costly. I am broke but invested. Stressed dialing things in never endingly so trying to figure out how to do bubble right now is just ugh.

I know the majority but no yield but as I said I might have to do bubble as I cant really get rid of it any other way thats worthy or less illegal.

Does RH apply to kief? Why did I get like .1 out of 2gs kief?

Im pretty stoked to think about making use of my super shark afterall. Just use messager on trimming tray outdoor when it gets cold at night in northern state that snows so its already like 40F at night.

It takes some getting used to. You just gotta keep working at it.

Im thinking I can get about .15 g kief per g flower so 2.25 gs or more of kief plus sugar leafs from its own self and another one oz plant. So maybe 2.5 or 3gs kief, I guess just follow what I have for directions of pressing kief pillow shaped.

2.8 grams of dry sift pressed at 165 degrees for 180 seconds for a 41% return. Just stole that from another site since I am in similar possition more than likely, I used to strip kief off weed all the time until I got tired of cost effective and left with a bunch of nasty smoking weed.

No, I mean when I strip the kief off the bud I am doing that to sugar leaves too and adding that little bit of yield to get cllose to 2.5 or 3gs dry sift. But I did read you can press shake but that was just a google suggested answer where yall here say it aint worth it. The google answer did say lower yield and quality but thats it.

Yeah, any material left is just a sponge keeping you from getting as much as you can out.

Keep your trim from harvest, bubble or tumble it however you like then press that. Usually what I do.

Pretty stoked but same time its a historical harvest, I dont want to do it. My last harvest was ruined and the ones before that the weed just didnt smoke and even gave me an athsma attack which I never have. So having some smokable weed is nice. I learned chopping a little early doesnt ruin it.

I should have so much more expirience by now but shut down but back up and going crazy. Heres two plants next in line for this that I am setting a minimal goal of 8oz each. Eventually going to make a good perpetuating setup of clones in a slow bean hunt for I guess now the best rosin strains.

This setup a bit overkill and complicated but I am getting there.

So if this doesnt go as planned and yields crappy or nothing I will be bummed. When I press it that is, I know I will get a nice g or two kief. but pressing might not go as planned. It went horrible last time. It did get me zooted but only got one dab.

So what does it mean if its greenish and smears on paper like that? Usually with small yields when I pressed too hard or too long. idk but its impossible to collect it just keeps smearing.

What that mean? I watched it ooze rosin slowly and just treated it the same as any run but maybe left it a bit longer which I dont think I even did that.

I put it in the freezer over night and still smears. This is from that super shark that wouldnt yield.

Fold it over on itself see if you can get it to stick together.

Right off the bat got .06 from one g flower which isnt good but going to donit a couple more times same batch to see if I get more as I am using a small grinder so it is a little too full. Put a nickel in there to help agitate. Not looking like the best strain for any extract but maybe just me.

it wont, it just smears. So bad I considered it trash because it had that green tint to it like plant matter from a bad squish. My very gery first press which I recorded on here was like that, I was going to scale it but changed my mind because it was just so messy.

Oh yea.. First time using messager and its a must do, it took all the work out of it. Yielded the rest it had to give which is .10 per g but took out like .2 flower to smoke a bowl with kief thinking I was fed up but now I got something considerable as a test. I got 16gs left just about so thats 1.6 g kief to press. Is it really worth it?
