filled it up with 5 2litre bottles of frozen water but the fan wasn't strong enough and the case not air tight.nice idea.... what r ya gonna fill'er up with?
cheer for the advice but there isn't a big following of craig's list over here in the uk.i agree with someone here.... check craigslist, but get a portable a/c instead of a window a/c.... they got wheels, and already have a nice exhaust hole/duct you can lead out of your tent to blow the heat generated frm the cmpressor.... i just looked and found one for 50 bucks.... shop around my man... i had one about a year ago for my living room and they are the shit, i just put the exaust duct out the window...
Way to take the bull by the horns, well done. You may need to restrict the airflow through it a bit. You do not have much thermomass in such a small case. The air is probaly exchanging a bit fast for it to actually cool before exiting. Maybe get yourself a cheap styrofoam cooler or maybe someone has a old cooler you can bum. You are on the right track. Slower flow and a bit bigger cooling chamber and I bet you will be good to go in a 1.2x1.2 space. By the way, 1.2 meters or 1.2 feet?its deffiantely not effecient, it shite really, had it going today.
cosign....that straight up ingenuity and things like this is always welcomed +repGood enginering. I like people who think out of the box, and use what they have. I give you props for problem solving, and for actually going through with your idea. Building shit is just plain fun. Especially if it actually works.
