cheap organics in SE michigan?

Hey guys, I've been using dyna gro for a while but lately it seems to be giving me nute deficiencies, discovered it's due to the 1 gallon nute jugs crystalizing inside. Been getting red striping on my plants and am about fed up with it and decided to finally go organic.

I bought some organic compost tea from cultivation station (closest vortex brewer to me) and while the results are amazing I am not a fan of the $9.95/gallon price tag which prompts the question are there cheaper compost tea distributors around the metro detroit area?

Was also wondering if someone can point me to a organics store that has good people and info/advice/products for me to learn and buy? Looking for something that isn't going to cost me $250 a week in compost tea, hoping for some kind of organic solution that is cheaper than that. I use promix by the way.

Dynagro always has crystals in the bottle, I don't think it's a problem, it just means that the liquid is saturated and no more will dissolve.

If you are having trouble in flowering, you might want to try using Bloom with Fox Farms tiger bloom and then either not using mag pro or using very little.

Far as that goes, Fox Farms makes fully organic fertilizers.

Thanks for the help tibberous, oddly enough the plants are vigorous and healthy in flower, the problems lie in the veg room. Been trying different things for about a month to no avail. Just taking this opportunity to convert my grow to full organics since I've been meaning to do it anyway for a while now. super soil is intimidating the more I read on it

Lose the dyna gro.
why? heard many good things about it and have been using it myself but having all that scale in the bottom of my jugs and having the same striped stem issues has made me question dyna-gro. what would you suggest using and i can't afford $400 for an nutes or 20 different bottles for that matter.

I've had good success with botanicare pure blend pro. They have grow for veg and bloom for flower, and they work great. Personally I run my garden with supersoil and its the best move I've made yet. Takes the guess work and time out of it.

i've decided to try compost tea. found this interesting product called Boogie Brew. Its a compost tea in a bag, supposed to have everything you need in it minus some worm casting and guano at the appropriate times. I talked to the creator Josh today and he talked my ear off about where he sources the ingredients and how he has just started to mass market it in california. While i wait on it to be shipped, going to buy compost tea from the local shop.

I'm thinking of using a 2:1 ratio of FFOC and FFLW as the base and add compost tea as needed, anyone have comments?

mrbungle kind of relieved to hear that I'm not the only one having red striping issues using dyna gro. it's been frustrating hence my decision to just ditch the line altogether despite have 3 gallons of the stuff.

Here's the gameplan:

fox farm oceans forest and light warrior 2:1 ratio
compost tea every third watering
R.O. filtration installed

as long as I ph the compost tea to 6.6 i should be fine correct? I've heard that fox farm soil is acidic so does this mean I should mix in dolomite lime with the soil before potting? any advice is appreciated

I think i heard the guy at htg in Taylor say they show people how to brew compost tea every weekend and then give it away. If that's relatively close, you might want to give them a call or something, they could be doing it today.

my issue in the bottles of dyna isn't crystals per se', it is more llike egg shells at the bottom and lots of it. transferred to another jug and emptied it all out. apparently dyna say's may be phosphorous or sulphur which if that is the case seems to me would be the cause of the striping on the stems. phos def. unfortunately this happened with both gallons of grow and bloom. gonna try adding a supp of compost tea as the growery kindly suggested until i decide which route i'm gonna take. i'm liking the growery's idea more and more. also using promix by the way with my water ph'd around 5.9-6.0 some say 5.9 with promix some say between 6-7 had all kinds of issues when i ph'd at 6.5. just my 2 cents on that

hmm-

i don't get crystals in my dyna grow. i don't, however use the grow. Foliage Pro as a veg supplement. have your jugs ever been cold? did you get them from the same supplier? maybe he let them freeze?
