You dont really need gel/powder for cuttings you know.if they are taken propely and put into riot cubes or airy medium, kept moist they root.i can get the same results without gel.ive tried and tested a few gels/powders and cant reccomend any.just spit on the cuts stalk.lol..ive seen a friend literally chop a stalk off and put it in soil no humidity dome,a week later it had rooted.

I have always used and had great success with Clonex gel. I always wind up taking more then I need out of the container (I pour it into a 1gallon jug cap) and it still lasts me forever I just leave it in the fridge in-between uses. *cheers*

Spit , some growers have spit on cuttings and they would root. Saliva PH's around 6.3 and may be an alternative.

Aspirin ... Same as willow Bark. Helps with stress and is used to germinate and maintenece foliar. ( but with light use )

Garden Safe 'Take Root' Rooting Hormone?

http://www.amazon.com/Garden-Safe-Rooting-Hormone-2-Ounce/dp/B00AA8WPGY/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

Any of you use this product successfully? Its $5 at Walmart. Cheaper than any other cloning gel I have come across. THe online reviews have several people stating it didnt help their clones, but they werent cloning cannabis. So in the case of most marijuana, is this a viable product?
I use household honey for years better than clonex etc,

as it antiseptic too

good luck

I've always just used the cheapest I can find, as others have mentioned, you don't really need it, just a bit of insurance.

No such thing as organic honey. You have raw honey and that will work.

So will willow bark. Take new growth from a willow tree. Yellow growth. Cut up and add to warm water and let sit over night. It makes a great cloning solution.
This is what I have on hand.

I dont have any willow trees near by to take bark from though.

Ez cloner I don't even use gel. And I get roots in 4-5 days. But in rapid rooters, I double dip. Take cutting, directly into ro water, 10 mins later, cut a slit an inch up the middle of the bottom, then scrape a little skin off the stem and cut 4-6 slits. Then dip in Clonex AND COAT in Bontone-1powder from Home Depot. Roots in 7-10 days.
