and shit...can i use these dimmer switches with a pc fan or inline? they don't say anything on the package...not for and not against..i was just wondering that now...they're not specific for fans, but I didn't know if they would burn up or not

THAT SOG IS VERYYYY TEMPTING! I'm seriously looking into it, but does he have pictures of the actual setup? I'm having trouble finding anything but the bonsai moms" ".

Can someone give me an idea about pc fans with carbon filters that work?

Also, anyone know how loud the inline fans are? How effective? How many? I can get them, I just figured from previous forums, they were louder than my industrial fan for the breezeway :)

Thanks guys; big help & I love the ideas! Keep 'em coming!
Pictures are mixed in, page 3 has the clone and mom cab, page 4 has the flower cab and there's more further on. Also check out his grow after this one, in his sig I think, 2 larger boxes 1kw combined of cfl's micro sog style.

Wow, Ya confuse me lol!

Ya wont need a dimmer switch with the PC fans and power adaptor as you can control the speed with the voltage switch on the converter. (dont use a reostat dimmer on a inline unless it states for a fan!!!!! fire risk!!!!)

Ya want your intake fan as LOW as ya can get it! if using 450w cfl I would use 2x12cm PC fan intakes.

Ya want to use 4x12cm doubled up to blow through a home made carbon filter, like 2 fans next to each outher then 2 stuck on top of these 2, this will increase the avalable air preasure and allow for the restriction in flow caused by the carbon filter and move more air through so you get some negative preasure inside so all smelly air goes through filter and not out through gaps in ya box, the out vent wants to be as HIGH in ya cab as possable.

ya size of box ya said 48 or 60 inches, If using 450w make it 60" to allow some air inside.

stick a 12cm fan or 2 inside and ya should be fine with temps!

450w wont be to hot for the wood, or the cab if ya set the fans up like this,

sorry 4 crap pic but ya get idea!

for the carbon filter stitch the panty hoes togeter with pockets like this,

fill the pockets with ya carbon then sew up the top and staple/tape over exit fans at top.

how's about some +rep for this? lol

hope it helps m8!

Sorry lol..I had no idea about the rep thing.. I'm more one to observe and take ideas than to use the forums..I just signed up with rollitup since I came from cannabis site. I always find myself using this one more than most, so it was about time I signed up. I gave ya rep, but will only allow once? I appreciate the help, and didn't even consider the dimmers. I was surprised to see them (how pathetic, I know). Pic is awesome, and was my original idea other than the stacking. I want to do a bit more discreet, and I have 6 fans coming in tomorrow. They actually were going to come today, but with the wife being in the states, my damn clock is messed up in my head & I passed out haha. They are .3amp with blue led's. I'll cut the led's on most, or put them on a switch so I can turn them on when I'm smoking with them so that I can enjoy it that much more lol.

I'm really excited to do a grow box. I've always, since a kid, had somewhere to grow that was an entire room. Bad thing is, the more room, the more difficult to get it covered with light.

_____________before I found an awesome non-working fridge/freezer stack online__

Now, I can finish the post & let you know that I just bought a non-working fridge over freezer online. Best part is that it's a fridge, then above chiller, then above freezer. Three doors on it. If anyone has any idea how these things look, let me know what ya think I could do with it.

I went and bought another pump for the watering (even smaller one).i'm worried about feeding at too rapid of a pace while I'm away, and I'm picking up another digital timer in the morning (actually 2 so that I can be extremely lazy with this) & I'll have it watering for 1 minute solid. Not by choice, but the smallest timer I've found is 1 minute intervals. I also bought 10 meters of hose & 10 meters of wire for the 6 fans. I also bought a 1.5 amp 6/9/12/15 bunch of numbers ac/dc plug. Will try and find bag to sew together for the carbon filter...Any recommendations on product I can use? I have to hand it to you DIY guys. It's such a rush. My previous carbon filter is the size of an astronaut's helmet, and I still don't think it worked as well as some DIY I've been around. Pantyhose isn't going to hold very well attached to the bottom of the chiller/roof of the fridge....Any other ideas?

Fridge is a good idea, yeah? I mean, it's already too late now, but it's white, it's stealth, fan noise is common in a fan (which is not at all a worry for me). Fire proof? It's metal, but plastic on inside. Shoot your ideas :) computer pic is one of my fav's..It's to show you what kind of organization I want with timers/strips/etc. The other two pics are of the fridge istelf.. blue fan from above what i went with..

Basically...I want all your ideas on organizing this ..(maybe how to make a light crank that sits in the middle compartments? where can I put the watering tub & drainage tub? etc etc

Rep points to all (now that I know how to do them)

CheersPicture 4.pngView attachment 913332Picture 3.png

Wow love the fridge! middle for clones, top for veg, bottom for flower???

that would give a lovely perpetual grow!

Haha, I wish..I gotta keep this pretty stealthy...any ideas on how to fit it in? I've got pumps for watering/feeding & drainage. Will a pump burn up if it runs no more than one minute without water? My reasoning is that it may suck it up rather quick & I'd prefer not to waste a motor. Timers only go down to minute by minute here, as do most I believe. They're 24 hour max as well so it's not like I can set it for every 2 or 3 days. Any ideas? I don't want to leave it in there..This is truly going to be a lazy grow...just hard organizing to boot. I'm still wanting ideas pleaseeeeeeeee for the light crank (up/down manual with plug in wall light ballasts....like an extension cord with a light socket at the end) Also for the organization with a watering tub, drainage tub, two pumps. Keep in mind, one pump needs to be flowing down (I can hide the tubing in there somewhere) and one has a max of 4 ft pressure going upwards, which I don't want to push it upwards towards the electricity much because that will be right at its max & I don't want to push it. IDEAS ARE MORE THAN WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED!

here we go, MK2!

Brown is hydroton expended clay pellets, under is rez with flood and drain (use eletric cable glands and hose pipe) make rez big enough to always keep pump under water,

Ya only need carbon filter on bottom flower room.

This will give ya a nice perpetual grow!

All good except one thing mate. I'm using soil this time around. I've been using it lately, and tastes so much better. Cheers for the picture because it's a nice setup! I just want to do it exactly like the guy from page 1 of the post. That is a wickedddd idea. I'm doing 10 1.5 liter bottles cut to .75 liters & filled up about 3/4 (well, all the way, but the soil will end up draining out some & sinking down). I'm trying to figure out where to pump the water to for drain off as well :D. I may end up just throwing the pump at the bottom in a tub & just have the hose running to a tub on the door. Wouldn't hurt to have to do it manually & it wouldn't hurt to leave water in there for a couple days max. I can't do the clones cuz I still need a place for the wires & I don't have much room to work with on cfl's while keeping it all stealth 360degrees around and have the lights hanging inside. that's why I was hoping for a crank in the middle so that I could raise /lower lights up to that point, although, they aren't going to get that tall with this grow.

Instead of drilling places for the fans on the back, what about just two holes on the back? like this:

let me know what ya think :) I've tried to use as many ACTUAL pictures from the internet of the ACTUAL items that I have. tubing is accurate, etc..Top tub is a bit different as is bottom, but that's okay. Any suggestions on how to raise the plastic netting other than wire on a screw into the side...I'd prefer something a bit more sturdy :)

still can't give you more rep for the drawings you did..wtf lol..anyways, what do you think of these drawings? I have everything but the damn thermometer. I'll worry about it in a bit; my main concern is getting this fridge in 3 hours, which I'm still clueless as how I'm going to transport it haha. The fans will be picked up @ 4pm or maybe sooner. Any ideas how to cut the fan's hole out? I'm going to mount the fans rather than try and make a perfect hole for them to fit into. They'll stay on the inside and the hole will be small enough to where they cant fit through, but the air flow can 100%. What am I cutting with? Or just a drill?

to cut round holes with a drill use a "hole saw" they come in large sizes, I got a big muti-pack with loads of sizes for £10

Ya sketch wont work, pump 5 will start and when it stops water will still syphon out till contaner 4 is empty

No, it will work. The whole point with having it in the freezer is because it gives me the most space, however, it's still not a lot. The size tub I have to use is IDEAL for the amount of water that needs to be distributed to the bottom tub. It puts it at the absolute perfect level to soak into holes on the side & bottom of the bottles. I couldn't do it all as I had wanted to because it's compact, which is why I made a top loader for the water via watering can. Not exactly the thing that made me the happiest, but at the same time, it's stealth, and I can fit a good sized feeding in the tub. It's got it's kinks to make it more self-sufficient; but, if all I have to do is fill it up once every couple days when the children need it & flip a switch, then I think I still got it pretty damn easy :P The syphon is what I was worrying about, too (had I decided to go with a bigger container) & it works perfect. The pump has such a brutal start/stop that it actually kills any chance of it. It's a hard hit, and it knocks a break in the water :) I don't know if that's going to be every time, but that's the results from my 2 run experiment. Again though, doesn't really apply with the size of container as long as I'm making sure my water level doesn't go too high in the bottom chamber. Any suggestions on the raising and lowering?

Cheers again & for the drill bits. We are talking the long ass things that are pointy at the end and look like some sort of arrow, yes?

AHH...it may be a combo of the hard start/stop mixed with the pump only able to pump less than a ft high. If I keep the hose at a high enough angle, it's gonna have difficulty reaching the peak...If I keep it barely reaching the peak, once the pump shuts off, if the hard hit doesn't break the water, is it the elevation? Everything seems to be working, however, I don't have the fridge just yet & am using my hands in place of it with the dimensions of my current fridge :)

I dont quite understand the need for all the pumps/containers in ya setup?
I have got 2 plants in plastic bottles full of soil/perlite at the min and I only water every 2-3 days by hand, would this not be the best setup? as I think ya just going to overwater and run into loads of problems with pumps/pipes/header tank/overflow tank etc.

I don't think you understand .. I have tomatoes, basil, lettuce, spinach & it's all hand-watered. My plants usually are, too...Actually, they always are. This time, I'm doing it out of a passion for being lazy & DIY mixed together. I'm having a blast with it. The pumps are just simply because it's here & I bet you've never paid 4 bucks for a brand new pump in a store, lol :) There's no way I could overwater these. I don't think you fully follow me. I basically am hand-watering them in a sense. I control when the pump goes on, when it goes off & how much water I put in the tank at the bottom. I'm not watering these things from the top. There will holes in the side of the bottles as well as the bottom. You should really check out that post by Oregonmeds or w/e his name was on the first page. He had a great post, and I've decided to replicate it in my new fridge :) These are going to be lowered into the watering rather than having the watering lowered onto them. Being an overflow tank is precisely the point. Then a pump in there to suck out the water once it's done. I want a pump for this just because I hate spilling the damn water, and my ass always does it. Plus, it's more compact & with the plastic netting to lower/raise them, it's too tight for me to get into without knocking something over if ya know what i mean. Yeah, I only water my plants every 3-4 days unless the soil's really drying up and then I hit every 2-3. I'll have no problems with the pipes nor tanks. I've plenty of space for it, regulated appropriately, and an eye to keep on it to work out the kinks and adjust it to my liking. If you think this is bad, try growing with a nutrient flow pvc piped hydro system. If you have an electrical outlet within 3 meters & those fuckers spring a leak, you're just screwed haha. They spray like crazy. All the pressure built up into the pipe. At least with this, it's just a downward flow for the watering. I could even make it one straight hose and forget the pump altogether (which, I more than less am already doing that by turning it on manually). Of course, I'll have to fill the water back up every time, but I'm okay with that. Trial & error and I'll find something clever with it & change it up.. That's the brilliant part of growing.
