catch-22 w/ carbon filter

oh ok thanks man. Was super duper afraid it would just soak up bullshit all year and by the time I could use it half its life would be over. well I'm guessing it's not a bad thing that I wrapped it up anyway?

so it would probably be smart to take the wrap off the top, throw some silica gel packs in there and seal it up again?

Mine is wrapped. Its activated carbon, seems smart to limit its access to air when not in use...

what is the size of the filter .........is it is a 8inch ducting that would be a 700 cfm filter /fan combo
a 6 inch one would be a 400crm filter and fan combo
a 4 inch would be a 170cfm filter and fan combo

You do realize you can buy any size flange to fit the filter right? Filters dont typically come with flanges unless its a kit.

The filter on ebay has 5lbs of carbon. The CAN has over 25lbs carbon. I trust CAN filters only. They have a shaking machine process which packs the carbon in dense not allowing any air pockets.

what one are u talking about

the filters are made to a design .......that little 4 x12 they have will work on a booster fan .......the 4x18 will work with a inline fan

i have the bag of carbon from them .......i filled it alls u do is pour it in then move it around pick it up a few inches and let it drop packs in then add more do the same until the cap is full tapp it down a few times top off add cap hang

i smell nothing .........i have had more then 4 lbs in my dry racks with my friends coming over (fiends they can track weed down) nothing they smelled nothing

u are making assumtions about a product u never messed with ...........please refrain from doing that .....if u do not own it or messed with u do not have the right to say anything about it (using your exp from past things and other ppl does not mean it applies to this one)

Use some 1x1s to strengthen top of tent if your running smaller place take just r
Place a 1x1 in center of tent from floor to top of tent make make a hair long and wedge it now your tent can handle 200lbs.

He's saying that some companies sell carbon filters that don't have as much carbon in them as others. Seeing as how carbon is the active ingredient in a carbon filter, it would behoove a customer to make sure they're getting sufficient carbon for their buck. This is why I went with can filters, because my filter weighs 43lbs and others of comparable size were half the weight.
