Car Stereo Systems

So can someone who has an aftermarket stereo system in their car explain to me what the big deal is about one?

It seems like a regular stereo system would be fine, I don't understand why someone would pay close to a grand to make their speakers a bit louder or the the bass a bit stronger, even if you had the money to waste, why waste it on something like that?

It gets to a certain point where an increase in the volume doesn't make the quality of the experience any better, same thing goes with bass. A shit ton of bass is just annoying imo. I had friends in high school who spent that kind of money on their systems and acted like it was the coolest shit on the planet, never understood it at all.

And I've got a guy in one of my neighbors houses right now (not the neighbor mind you, one of his friends while he's at work) doing that exact thing inside the garage, just blasting the damn music and bass while working on the car. I'm not some stiff fuck who would complain about music being played in the middle of the day, but this shit is unquestionably unreasonable, and he doesn't even fuckin' live there! How is it possible this guy could think this is acceptable? Is he just stupid and didn't consider it might bother people, is he just really inconsiderate and doesn't really care if it does...?

The fuck is wrong with people, man... damn.

peacocking at its cheesiest. nothing more. most of these people don't even adjust their sound right. they just want to make sure you notice that they're there. there is no need for music in a residential neighborhood that can be heard 2 blocks away. everyone at that party could hear that music fine at a tenth of the volume. just obnoxious "look at me" douchebaggery.

as i write this my windows are shaking from someone's stereo. the stereo is inside a hummer with expensive rims. that's all that needs to be said, really.

The whole point is to be a pest. I remember an ad for a car stereo that proclaimed "The following song goes out to everybody in a five-block radius." Deliberate provocation is at the root of it, and I would so like to see cops stop with the :cuss: pot busts and go after those disturbers of the peace. cn

Subwoofers can add depth to music, my home theater and my car each have one. But it's really annoying to have too much...that boom boom shit. Music in my car sounds great, but with windows rolled up, you can barely hear it outside the car, yet the bass is perfectly balanced in the music, it doesn't overpower it.

Same thing with the home theater. My sub is capable of rattling the walls and windows, but again, I keep it down so it blends in with the highs and midranges, it never overpowers them.

You hear these morons in their cars getting gas, and they have to play it really loud. Can't they fucking do without their music for a few minutes? And it can't musically sound good in the car, outside apart from the boom boom, the car body rattles, that's gotta sound like shit

I have big ass loud as shit system in my car. I use it to pound slayer and other various heavy metal when the asshole next to me at a red light thinks he's cool. I won't roll through your neighborhood blasting it tho that's the difference with me that shit is annoying as Fuck. Dude its 3 am shut that shit off. And I agree obi about the gas station. That shit annoys the piss outta me. They leave the car running when they go in and still have the music on. I've thought about hopping in it and running the fucker over when he comes out.

qaulity, better designed circites better power, features Signal to noise rations get better you get real Digital quality from a higher DAC or amount of BITS or information that can be uncompressed at a time, over all high qaulity

also if you have a nice one you can turn your system up to like 110 db without distortion . . . give girls orgasm in there seats . . vibratey . . youd love that

oh my old Audio bahn fire grilled systems with Orion amps were intense, needed 3/8 in plexi on my back and rear windows . . from ones had ports in em to redirect air flow as to not give me a headache

My share of annoyance is having these twinket wannbee-DJs that inhabit my upstairs thumping their dubstepping bullshit at 5 am to 10 pm. What's worse is they're not using a regular home system, they're using bass bins, tweeter horns, dedicated preamp-amplifier and a reverb unit that they still can't figure out. These dubsteppers fucking stupid that the shit that ALREADY WAS RECORDED WITH REVERB is being sent through the reverb unit. It's like taking dog shit and lighting it afire to make it smell alittle different.

yes, they should. opening the carb at low altitude is nothing more than an excuse to be obnoxious. they make their bikes loud on purpose. regular harleys don't sound like elephant farts 2 miles away. deliberately altering a vehicle for the sole purpose of irritating the ever loving fuck out of people deserves a fine. the interstate is one thing, a thickly settled neighborhood is something else entirely. if a dude doesn't care about my peace, i certainly don't give any fucks about his wallet. fine him into poverty for all i give a shit.

Notice howmsomemof those motorcycle guys with loud engines like to sit in their garage or driveway and rec the engine for hours on end? Wtf is that all about.

Or the high pitched smaller bikes. Everywhere I've lived, there is always someone who just rides the thing up and down the street for no apparent reason. Either go somewhere or go home!

...Sorry!

I like loud music, what else is there to say. Although, I don't go out of my way to annoy people. If I'm at a stoplight or in a residential neighborhood I turn it down.

I had systems in every car i owned throughout my late teens and twenties. If it is hooked up right, it can sounds FANTASTIC. Most people that hook up systems seem to go for bass and nothing else. I can't begin to tell you how many shitty systems i've seen throughout the years.

And the people that drive around playing their shit way too loud are assholes, plain and simple. I only cranked my systems when i was on the highway or when i was waiting to make a right turn on red, and the asshole in front of me wont pull up 3 inches to let me in. That's the best time to crank it, because they get annoyed and let you pass.

Must admit I've been guilty of this. But again its because the neighbors insist on doing what they do so I do what I do.
