Can't Figure Out The Problem I Have

this plant is about 4 weeks old from seed . all of a sudden I have this problem I cannot figure it out originally i thought mag def so i hit it with an epsom salt solution heavily diluted and misted after lights out. I am not positive i diagnosed correctly and would like some possible problems it could be also solutions would be nice

mg moisture control soil
tap water left out to get rid of the chlorine ph balancing done with vinegar testing with cheapo pool test kit water is around 6
ferts once half strength mg all purpose 24-8-16.
I have another same plant same treatment same age only difference i just topped this one. The other plant is in much better shape any help will be greatly appreciated

I would scrap the vinegar. It will drop pH..but only temporarily. It may be building up in the soil...

I'd water w/plain water...maybe a LIGHT fert with it...and just see what happens

i'm afraid i can't see what the damage is in those pix; can you take some with the lights off, so we can see true color?

My camera is a serious POS this is about as good as i can get it the darker area on the lower leaves is almost purpling. I hope this is good enough for a some sort of diagnosis I am no pro but i am almost thinking over nitrification?

i still can't see what i'm looking for... can you paint me a picture? describe it in as much detail as you can, color, burning, rust spots, wilting, etc... i'm sorry babe, but i'm blind anyway, bad pix leave me guessing, which i won't do with your plants. you need to know what's wrong, and not guess at the problem. guessing always makes things worse, imo...

I think this last batch of pics show the colors i am seeing they feel a bit "crispy" they also have a serrated look and feel to them some of the other leaves also have browning at the tips along with the issues shown is this leaf

i'm going to pm babygro and ask him to take a look... i'm sorry, but i still can't see them well enough to say...

kp, I can't see them very well either - the pics are very poor.

Marcus if you can describe the damage in as much detail as possible it would really help, because of the poor quality of your pics.

From what I've read of what you've done and from looking at the pics, there seems a couple of possible things going on. My first thoughts at looking at some of your leaves, which aren't at the bottom of the plant, which is where most deficiencies will start, is that you've burnt them with too much fertiliser.

4 weeks is at the point where you'll need to start fertilising, but your Miracle Gro fert is pretty potent and at the dose you've used, 1/2 recommended, it's probably too much. This is the problem following manufacturer guidelines, they're often working at 0ppm EC, TCS or whatever irrigation water, and unless you use distilled or RO water, even then it may still be too much. So if you're using tapwater will a high salt content already, it's highly likely that you've over-fertilised them. Best to start out at 1/4 or even lower - you can always raise it depending on how the plant took up that feeding.

Now, in another pic, I can just about see a leaf yellowing at edges at the botttom of the plant, is this correct or are my eyes decieving me here? If it is, that looks like Mg deficiency.

This is the best I can tell you from looking at your pics, and like kp, I'd like to see clearer ones really. If you do have Mg problems, ferting with that MG fert probably isn't going to help you too much to be honest.

It's possible the burnt leaves are like that from the misting, but it's less likely.

BG brought up a good point that a lot of beginning growers forget. It's always better to underdo things rather then overdue them.

If you get BG and KP some pics they will have you straightened out in no time.

thank you for trying to help with what little i gave you to work with. Like I said i had already treated as though it were a Mg defiiciancy and after hearing possible nute burn I decided on just plain water for its next feeding. The plant is showing nice green new growth and appears to be coming around nothing drastic but it has gotten better. thank you once again ...I am looking into buying a much nicer camera so if I have issues i cant identify I can help you all help me

Simple overfeeding.

When I put plants in soil, I don't feed at all for the first month. You want the plant to search for food, that will create a good root system.
