Can't Figure IT OUT!!

well i did use cal-mag and with nutrients and the leaves did turn back to green. but im still having the problem where the leaves slowly turn yellow starting from the tips and work their way to the base and while its turning yellow the leaves form spots around the veins and eventually the leaves turn brown and dry up and look crispy.
 
What is your humidity like? What is your night time humidity like? What is your ph? runoff ph? how often are you watering/nuting........ what is your water source?
 
Man I'm having the same problem...But i think it was because my ph in my soil was at a low 5.0, I flushed with about 10 gallons and got it 6.3..I'm really looking into this thread and hope we can work together and figure this problem out cause as i can see i'm not alone..Also 429Ben do you keep your plants sitting in their runoff water something i was doing and could have been the cause of over watering and maybe root rot...But again i'm not sure..I just flushed my plant about a couple of days ago and waiting for results i'm also using happy frog and foxfarm nutes...Maybe this could be the Foxfarm Brand..Not sure..just saying

Oh and Ben sorry i'm not tring to jack your thread just trying to help and maybe we can also help the rest of the RIU members that are having this same problem and maybe make a sticky on this issue once we solve it..
 
holy shit thats exactly what my leaves look like. When i water them i make sure there is no water sitting at the bottom.

My humidity is around 30-40% also at night. My run off ph is between 6.2-6.5 and i feed it every other watering and i use my tap water. I fill up my 1 gallon jugs and let it sit overnight. My tap water is 7.5 ph and 150-170 ppm.
 
Hey Neo how do you check your ph of your soil? the way i do it is i water the soil with plain water and collect the runoff and i use my blue lab combo meter to measure the ph. Blue lab also has a soil ph probe but its too expensive and i don't know if it is accurate.
 
Yea i'm giving plenty of nutes..I'm pretty sure man..Well like i said my ph was at 5.0 than i got it to 6.3 just recently so it could have been from that maybe nute lockout..and yes Ben I use a chemical ph tester the one with the color chart but i'm sure it is accurate had my friend test it with a ph meter.Hmmm..well maybe this is some crazy H1M1 like Ben Quoted..lol.. :)
Not sure but hey anyone maybe have some say in this would be nice maybe we can figure this crap out..
 
Man am I glad I found this thread!!! I'm just starting week 4 of 12/12 and my plants are doing the EXACT same thing!!!! Buds look awesome, but the fan leaves (not all of them thankfully) turn yellow, then start getting the brown/rust colored spots. I've been reading threads for the last 4 days trying to find a cohesive answer to this problem. At least now I know I'm not alone on this issue.

I don't have my current Ph (my puppy destroyed my meter and I haven't got another one yet) but I've been alternating using AN's Big Bud one watering, then molasses with the next watering. I definitely have a nitrogen deficiency also, so when I watered this morning I used FF Grow Big instead of the Big Bud to see if that helps. I've been getting REALLY frustrated with this because everyone has a different answer --- but there are some very common themes: Not enough nitrogen or calcium (I guess I've got to see if I can locate some CalMag tomorrow). Hopefully between all of us who are having this issue we can find a cure!!!
 
im sure i give it enough nutes for my jorges i add 1tsp of grow big 2 tsp of tiger bloom and 2 tbs of big bloom comes out to be 1300ppm. also i use the powders by FF and at he moment im on beastie bloomz thats only for feeding but when the pot becomes dry again i just give it h20/cal-mag 1tsp/molasses
 
I think I've got it whipped (holding fingers crossed!)!!!!

I did my last 2 waterings (they need water every other day) with a combination of 1.5 teaspoons of FF Grow Big, 2 teaspoons of AN Big Bud, and 1 teaspoon of Calmag per gallon of water Ph adjusted to 6.8 (I finally got a new meter and found my run-off was at Ph 5.9 or 6.0 so I need to bump it up a bit). After just a couple of days there is a HUGE improvement in my girls!!!! I don't know if I've got it whipped, but at least I know I'm going in the right direction now. I'll drop the Grow Big to 1 teaspoon/gallon for the next few waterings now that I have been able to reverse things somewhat.

I think it came down to a combination of a Nitrogen and Mag deficiency combined with my Ph being too low, but we'll see over the next few days if it continues to get better.
 
yeah having the ph too low locks out nutrients. I have a blue lab combo meter and i checked the run off and it was at 5.8 so i had to flush the shit out of it until i got it to 6.5 and i literally put 30 gallons through it until i got a good reading.

What line of nutrients do you have Mr. GreenJeans? and what is your soil ph now? it should be between 6.5-7.0
 
guys i have the exact same problem... my leaves look exactly like yours and I am using Fox Farm happy Frog as well!! I am also using big bloom and tiger bloom. The spots are blown and leaves all over are turning yellow. The thing about it is it is very sporadic, some leaves on the bottom and some on the top. The fan leaves were the first affected though and the lower ones have died off. I really hope we can figure this out soon. BTW im just starting my 3rd week of flowering. I can post some pics but they look just like everyone elses!
 
Very happy I found this thread, we need to solve this problem, just out of curiosity, how big are your guys containers? I have read that too small of containers can lead to problem with nutrients...
 
Nutes cause the ph to become acidic. Before you ph do you add nutes to water then ph. Thats what I had to do, at first I would ph the water to around 6.5 and then adding nutes that would then drop the ph to under 6. Caused the same exact problem, now they are better after about two weeks. Lost most of my fan leaves though which pisses me off because I know that yield will suffer greatly. Anyways good luck fellas. Oh by the way, I used hydrated lime to bring the soil ph back up. Tried the watering method but thats not effective enough.

Today my run off was at 6.3, so I'll continue doing what I'm doing (The girls are looking MUCH better!!!) I'm not big on massive flushing -- I'd rather ease the Ph up to where I want it over several waterings.

I'm using FF grow big, AN Big Bud, and CalMag. That's it except for some Ph up crystals from Viagrow. And I commited the ultimate sin --- I'm growing in Miracle Grow with time-release nutrients (which are long gone at this point!!).

I'm using 3-gallon pots. This is apparently a VERY common problem because there must be at least a dozen different threads on various parts of the site, all by people having the same issue and always at week 3 or 4 of flowering!!! :weed:

Ya, I always mix in all of my nutes, then Ph and adjust as needed. My water is consistently at 7.0, but usually drops to 6.0-6.1 after adding my nutes. a TINY amount of the Ph up crystals will bring it up where I want it. Right now I take it up to 7.1-7.2 until my run off gets to where it is hitting in the 6.6-6.8 range, then I'll back off a bit and run it at around 6.7.
