I get bonticare 5k blocks12 bucks =25 gals of coco.there's cheaper one out there.i think grow-it has blocks for 9.99=25 gal I burn thur a lot of coco.peace
We are paying 20 for 5k botanicare blocks. They claim 65 to 70 liters fully expanded. When I ran canna (40 liter bricks) and botanicare side by side the botanicare took longer to expand, and after loosly putting them in the smartpots, the 40 liter canna blocks filled the pots to the same volume as the botanicare blocks. So far I haven't noticed a difference in growth, they are both doing great, with the exception of roots. The canna is blowing out everywhere on the pots, and the botanicare not near as much.

Lots of great info on coco here Abucks: http://www.canna-uk.com/grow_info

Well worth the time spent going through that site. You can also use the search box on the top right to search for each element (like nitrogen for example). Pretty handy for diagnosing any problems.

I love the versatility of coco. You can treat it like dirt or hydro. Organic or mineral. And everything else between :bigjoint:
Canns site is my holy grail for this grow. So far I've fallowed everything I've read, and the advice canna gave me via email, and in many decades of growing, have never saw results like this. My biggest problem now is just sitting back and letting the coco do its thing. I'm used to hours and hours spent in maintanece fighting PH problems and a whole plethra of other problems accociated with other media and systems.

Update.
So six days into flower, and three weeks into grow from clones. First pic is day one of transplant Feb 14th, and second pic is today march 8th six days into flower. I can't believe it's only been three weeks, they amaze me every morning. I am now a firm believer in bigger, healthier, root systems equall bigger, healthier, faster plants! Beautiful! Looks like you got things well under control. I was thinking of switching to 10 gallon smartpots instead of the 15 gallon I'm running now, because everyone has given me such grief about big pots. After seeing the root ball in these, and the explosive growth so far, I think the only thing I'm changing next round is to add an irrigation system. Still doing research on different drip systems, so I'm not sure on the exact setup I will use.

I couldn't agree more. From less watering, to more buffering capabilities, big pots are the way to go. I've had a few people jump on me about this. I'm thinking I may do a side by side next round. Everyone seems to think 5 gallons is plenty, so I'm going to one 5 gallon, and see for myself how much better it is. I already know the answer to that! Lol

I think if you want to grow a big plant you need a big pot. Those 6 plants I have in my flowering room will pull between 8 to 10lbs.
This my veg room for the next grow. There are 3 Dream machine 2 DNA 91 Krypt all started from seed and one of northern lights x plus I have 2 more of the northern light x as back ups. just encase there is a male from the 91 krypt

Very nice! I have 8 plants filling in a 4'6" x8' screen with 2k lighting it. I'll be more then happy if I get close to the holy grail of a gram per watt. I pulled 1.6 lbs off 1k with ffof soil in 15 gallon potts. Would have been a lot more if I would have had better control over the environment. Yo-yoing temps and humidity due to not enough $ for proper control gave me issues. Buds turned out good, but lacked in density. This round I'm in total control, and nothing fluctuates more the a few points from average. The results have been phenominal. I shaved 16 days off my normal 33 day veg time, and after 8 days of flower, I have sings of bud formation. Normally it's 2-1/2 to 3 weeks into flower before I see that!

Yes controlling the room is very important I am trying something different this time. I put 4x600 hps underneath the plants just to see what happens the buds underneath are looking very good

Years ago I tried side lighting. Back whenT5s were the big thing. I would be curious to see the results of hps side lighting!

Guilty of the above! Every room I've visited that has shity plants, bugs, mildew, have been dirty, cluttered, untidy rooms. The beast grows I've seen, and experienced have been close to lab like conditions. It took me several years after I started growing to realize this.
