good. things work both ways. employers should have to pay their employs what they owe them, and employs shouldn't be cheating the time clock.
I’m not so sure. The folks who can deliver in three hours what takes the average worker eight shouldn’t be penalized for being good at their jobs.

then it depends on their contract...are they paid by the hour? or by the piece? or by the completed job...if you sign a contract to be paid by the hour, then how fast you do shit is irrelevant...work slower.
i know that's wrong, but it's right, legally.

The spread of fascism and domestic terrorism in Canada, I think we need to track burner phones and sim cards better with a picture and ID upon purchase. We also need to start giving out stiff sentences to those who make such politically motivated threats and be giving out mental exams to anybody who makes threats of a serious nature, a dog that barks also bites. If you want to lock up the mentally ill, start with the emotionally unstable and psychos. Harm to others in more ways than direct violence should be the criteria for some people.

However where do we draw the line? Presenting a republican with reality seems to do no good, they continue with their delusions. Some supposedly sane people cannot be convinced of Trump's guilt on anything no matter how much evidence is presented. I suppose it's the same for religious people, they believe bat shit crazy stuff too and no amount of evidence can change their minds.

It's the same for the antivaccer bunch who lead the FREEDUMB trucker protests when the pandemic was basically over and those few restrictions left were lifted. They believed bullshit too and facts made no difference.

every developed country in the world has millions or billions to spend on killing people, but north America has a problem supplying school lunches to poor kids, while the republicans want to simultaneously make more poor kids, while cutting funding for schools.
keep the poor hungry and stupid, so they're easier to control...the republican platform on school lunches.
i know that story was about Canadia, but the more i read, the more i see the parallels in our governments...

In order for them to be able to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps.

Curious about what you believe this will accomplish?

Up to 40 kids at Uintah Elementary in Salt Lake City picked up their lunches Tuesday, then watched as the meals were taken and thrown away because of outstanding balances on their accounts — a move that shocked and angered parents.Jan 30, 2014

A reduction in anonymous death threats, a terrorist act. Just accountability, one used to have to show ID to get a phone, have an address too, it is easy to take a photo of those purchasing phones and cards, especially burner phones and hold them for a set period of time. An old cellphone to take a picture of the customer and the ID presented should do, your internet connection is tied to you through your ISP. It won't eliminate it, but it will reduce the volume by reducing access to morons and catch those who are stupid. This activity has social costs and is a threat to liberal democracy, threaten people in minor offices until they quit out of fear and disgust, then get your own fascist elected. This strategy is being used in the states on elected officials and education and health officials too, politics by violence, otherwise known as fascism.

It may have made sense in the past, but unless every network capable device required the same requirements it won't slow it down at all. The argument could be made it would make the situation worse, shitty people will do shitty things, if they think big guberment is out to get them. If I can get my coffee maker or fridge send me an email, I can make them send shitty emails to whomever. If people have made threats, police should be tracking them down and charging them.

What I would rather see is funding and full scale support towards mental health initiatives, too many people are mentally broken down and have given up. Lots of good people will do really shitty things when they breakdown. This doesn't absolve making threats, but it will only continue to get worse if there is no compassion for the many people who are struggling with these past few years. The amount of people dealing with anhedonia is staggering.

Why don't we do both? Securing burner phones and sim cards a lot more will cost little, the point not being to eliminate it, but to reduce it and make uttering threats more risky. As for mental health, I used to teach mindfulness and still have a local mindfulness group on FB. Short of restructuring our society it is one of many possible solutions as our society becomes more mobile, lonely and impersonal because of rapid technological change driving rapid social change. Mindfulness is evidence based and secular, supported by science and is also known as mind body science and (MBCT) is the premier treatment/cure for depression or most cases of this social/emotional condition.

Here is something I promote and well known in the education community, builds empathy and allows us to get out of our heads and into our senses and thus relax. The senses operate in real time, hence present moment awareness, the mind is in the past and future much of the time.

A non profit and it can make a difference by teaching emotional education or mental education if you will EE to supplement PE.

Best I can do without being there, works for normal people fucked over and up by life the best, most depressed people are normal with no unlaying pathologies. This course is offered locally all over the place, but can be expensive, unless prescribed and waiting lists are long, they are taught by qualified instructors. Here is a free one online if you know anybody suffering it can help, after 8 weeks it causes a major shift in perspective and mood. It is an exercise, works the same way and takes about as long to get results, this one builds out yer brain and it will show on an MRI scanner.

Another thing I promote, it makes a good introduction for those interested in Buddhist meditation too and would like to pursue such a path.

i'm starting to resemble that remark :(
i see very little in the current geopolitical situation that anyone should feel joy about. things are bad, and look like they're going to get bad enough to kill off a LOT of people before fuck face fascists will even admit there is a problem. maybe we'll get lucky and most of them will die early.
