so im guessing that is not such a good idea....I was wondering the same thing :x
Bud candy, its somewhat more than molasses but I think thats one of the key ingredients. I've used it in my aerospring and not had a clogging problem.
I was just reading some other threads about if molasses was worthless or not, for being worthless many many people use it and as I said bud candy by advanced nutrients resembles a diluted molasses and smells the same. If there were NO benefits I don't believe as many people would use the stuff, molasses does contain a few micros also, some argue the amount is insignificant but every little bit counts as far as I'm concerned and my opinion is if AN makes it then its not a waste of time/money.

it clogs the sprayers but with the extra benefits it provides I just replace or clean them when necessary.

I think the last couple of posts need to realize the title of the thread. "can you use mollasas in a hydro resivior?"
The benefit of molasses is to the soil microbes...not the plant. Recent knowledge says plants CAN use their roots for small uptake of carbohydrates...but this is not what molasses is mainly used for. Molasses is a sugar that feeds soil microbes and gives you a healthy soil, not a healthy plant. I do know, some of, the benefits of molasses and don't claim to know everything. I am not giving my opinion, I'm giving to this forum what I know about molasses. Anyways, this is a forum I will give my opinion if I want. BTW, if you don't know the benefits don't give YOUR opinion....

and dbkick...you love overpriced nonsense huh?

I'm sure your pulling off 2 grams a watt too. And I bet your cannabis is much more potent than anybody who doesn't use AN. Congrats, your over-paying for your marijuana you grew.

You know, I looked at your grow and you were fucking proud of 17 grams wet for an entire plant, get the fuck out of here.

For 56 days 17 gs isn't bad. It was a free autoflowering I knew nothing about, and grew it in a 5 inch pot. I never claimed my yields were outrageous. Now the potency of my weed......well thats another story.

JewGrow's post about molasses was accurate and relevant to this thread. Budcandy is garbage and a total waste of money as it only adds a hint of magnesium (http://www.advancednutrients.com/hydroponics/products/bud_candy/bud_candy_faq_nutrient_facts.php). It's not a substitute for molasses and if you're dumb enough to buy a product like that without knowing what it does, then you deserve to waste your money. Check out Sweet for hydro as even if you're not feeding the microbes, your plants can still use the good dose of magnesium and sulfur.

Odd, the ads for sweet and bud candy have many similarities. Funny thing is I don't find much info or a label listing the specs for sweet but I do for bud candy. Oh and btw, I was dumb enough to buy bud candy because I use it to feed bennies in a bucket if you don't mind.

Is my link not correct? It looks like a magnesium supplement with some aminos. Over at ICmag, there was a test between molasses, bud candy and a juice with malt extract? The final results look identical to one another, IMO. I don't have an account over there, maybe someone can post that link? If you're feeding microbes with them, there are cheaper alternatives.

I'm finding the bud candy label but I guess your sweet ingredients are classified because I can't find a label :/
Oh well my nephew has a big bottle of it and I'm going over there tonight to set him up with tea brewing hardware/ingredients. I'll look at it then but its pretty clear you are down on ANYTHING AN and haven't used one of their products because they're too pricey for you.
I don't know how it is you can say a certain product DOES NOT work like you do all of AN's stuff if you've never even used it.
