Can you top and LST at the same time?

If by LST the meaning was bending down the new growth branches, imo it can and should be started on Day 1 or Day 2 after topping. The only limiting factor on LST is your own patience and skill. If you overdo it too fast, you will break branches. If you wait too long, it becomes hard to bend the branches, again creating a problem of broken branches or disorganized growth.

Like most things experience is king. Dont start LST if you dont plan to mess it up a dozen times or so in order to learn. When a broken branch you fix recovers, its a great experience imo. If one is unfixable, you discover new ideas. LST to me is the best part about growing...hands on.

Thx appreciated!!! I just dont know the right way to lst but I check a few vids
 
There I no right way. everyone stresses their plants out differently. Main goal is making most tops as possible while remaining somewhat even across the top of the canopy. I'm new to growing and broke 2 big nodes but since repaired them thankfully. 2020-4-30 18-23-8.jpg
 
Umm that is deff not lst that's called monster cropping or something breaking the main stem or a branch on purpose as it's too tall. I broke 2 of my main nodes the skinny part is bc I topped it few weeks ago. I am using cfl so I top and pull branches down cuz bulbs need to be very close. You can pull main stem down and plant will grow more on side and top will turn back up to light.

After topping there are 2 branches below, each has a fan leaf and growth tip. Those growth tips are your focus.

If you wanted to train the main stem you would not top it now, one or the other. Better not to train the main single stem imo.
