Can I assembly line nutrient dilution?

For brevity let’s assume I’m mixing three GH nutes, micro flora and bloom. I know I can’t just put them all in and then mix, they have to go in order and be mixed individually in the reservoir.

Though, can I set up a dilution assembly line? Put three containers in front of me, fill them each with a gallon of water. Put the nutes in their respective containers. Mix. Wait 15-60 minutes. Then dump them one by one into the reservoir?

Really just looking for ways to speed up the mixing process. I’m mixing like 9 different things and stirring/shaking/waiting a few minutes between each one is bleh.

Yep...diluting separately will work fine...of course check ph after all are in rez.

Yeah, I feel you on the nute-mixing struggle. Your dilution assembly line idea sounds like a solid plan to me! As long as you're mixing each container individually and waiting the recommended time, you should be good to go.

Just make sure to label each container correctly and keep track of which one's which, so you don't end up with a nutrient cocktail in your reservoir. Also, double-check the instructions for each product to ensure you're not exceeding the recommended mixing time.

By doing it this way, you'll save some time and hassle. Just think of it as a nutrient prep station!

Don't forget the pH down! Srsly though, that's a lot. You can probably get by with only the micro, grow, and bloom, and make a stock solution of several gallons that should keep for a few days to a week.

I understand how new growers end up using a zillion different nutrients and additives. But the majority of growers I see on here that seem to know what they're doing and really crush it in hydroponics or drain-to-waste, use a 3-part nutrient at most, and often just one or two-parts. That's where you'll save time and effort, not by figuring out how to mix 9 ingredients more efficiently.

For what it's worth, GH makes Maxigrow and Maxibloom, which are one-part nutrients for veg and flower, that you might want to consider. Especially as a new grower, it makes one less thing to worry about. Good luck!

Hear, hear.

I started with Botanicare "expert" line because I wanted the best nutes for my plants, doncha know. That lasted three grows.

I've still got the pretty bottles.

After grow #3, the light came on that it's all the same 18 chemicals and narrowed down my choices to either the GH three part or Jacks 3-2-1. I chose the latter and have had zero regrets. I bought 25 pound bags a couple of years ago and, since it's hygroscopic, I use a fresh bag of Epsom every grow. My cost per gallon is pretty low.

My res holds 26 gallons and it costs me $1.18 for a batch of nutes.

Once nutrients are provided at the sufficiency level, the plant can reach its genetic potential.

Oh, yeh, I made my own silica supplment based on the comments that Bugbee made about silica in the attached paper.

Puting a pump in your mixing reservior will help speed things up. Depending on the power of the pump you should be able to get the entire contents of the reservior go through the pump in minutes
