Rats. Are all the photos definite males? They aren't my only plants but the only ones showing sex. I thought females showed sex first? How long have I got before the pollen sprays? A week from when it shows aprox, right? Will females look pretty much the same except the ball will have a tiny hair?

So if I pulled them now would it be worth making butter? They're growing under CFL, been on 12/12 for over 2 weeks...

Males are almost always first to show sex, so if the others aren't yet, you may have girls left. As for time before pollen release...you've got more than you think. Unless your plants are growing by bionic proportions, it will take a couple weeks before the pollen sacs mature enough to release their dust. The pods will continue to multiply and grow in clusters. When they reach the stage where they begin to look puffy, and you can more easily see the separations where the petals seal together to form the capsule for the pollen, that is the time when they will begin to bloom into flowers. A full pollen sac looks swollen just before it bursts open and sprinkles its dust anywhere the air currents can take it. If you plan to grow out some boys to collect pollen for later use, choose the most robust looking plants and remove them FAR from the growing area where the girls are located. You need to be sure not to cross contaminate by using shared growing materials, and tend to the girls BEFORE you touch the boys, or be sure to wash up well so as not to carry pollen back unknowingly. When pollen pods swell, you can squeeze them gently to empty dust into a storage container - or just pluck the full pods as is. Any that have opened will have left a yellowish powder that you can shake from the leaves to add to your supply. Keep the stored pollen cool and dry, then once your girls have started flowering, you can choose how many buds you want to pollinate. I usually mark a smaller branch with a colored twist tie and then dab several of its buds using a small paint or makeup brush. This method controls pollination by limiting the number of buds that are seeded, preventing the whole plant from losing potentcy to seed production.
My first grow had 5 of 6 seeds that were males! It happens sometimes... But I made lemonade from lemons by growing out the best males of each of the three strains, collecting pollen and then using it later to make more (free!) seeds. I've also been experimenting with my own cross breeding trials from the favored strains. I've given seeds from my cross of AK48 and Blue Mystic to a growing friend, and at last report they were the best plants in their room - can't wait to try the smoke from them!

I got them from my local NORML chapter, $20 for 50. I've got 8 plants growing, I guess 3 are confirmed male with one probable. I guess I'll have to commit suicide if they turn out all male

Well, maybe not suicide worthy but I'll definitely be the unluckiest grower ever if they're all male. But if males do show first (always thought it was females) then I could live to grow another day.

Sure thing... The single female I had from that first grow happened to be one that I had chosen to top. I rooted the top cutting and ended up with a 2nd girl after all. Once you find a female, I'd suggest you try the same thing to double your girl count. Here is a great topping thread from a veteran grower - Uncle Ben knows his shit!

Yeah, I'm thinking of trying some 12/12 from seed growing now, but really I only wanted four of the eight to be female so I might be okay. I bet the 10 seeds you bought were feminized, so it's pretty worth it to avoid the fear of an all male harvest.

Are you saying I should top the females again and root them? I did top them all back when they were veging but I had no room to plant the tops. I've got no experience cloning and I really doubt I could get a cutting from a flowering plant to root, after looking into that "monster cropping" technique. But next grow I will take clones and label them to double females, wish I'd had room this time..
