Yeah, I don't know if you'd have trouble rooting a top if it's more than a week or so into flowering...guess I wasn't totally clear headed when I read your thread earlier. LOL
I've gotten into the practice of topping damn near everything in veg once it hits 4-5 nodes. It gives me a second wave of harvest on the cloned girl tops, although I do end up with cloned boys sometimes. When you're going from seed, you gotta take the chance that you'll waste some soil and time on a cloned boy in order to assure that you get those second chance girls to double your harvests. If you know you have girls already (I've got 5 clones from a female Northern Lights going now) then topping is a surefire way to get more free females. I only have one more NL seed, so I will be cutting and cloning from those babies for as long as I can...
