My Sis & BIL's company has profit sharing at Christmas. The average employee got a $12K check this year. Biggest Xmas bonus I ever got from an employer was $400.

Thats a huge blow to moral.
Some people just don't take others feelings into consideration all the time.
Times are tough around this time of year for many.
Not a very slick move on his part.

I hope you and your wife have a WONDERFUL Christmas.
Let your love be WAY more fulfilling than any Cadillac ever made.

Why not start your own business work your ass off and buy your own Escalade. I never understood being jealous of the boss/owner, what he does with his loot is non of my fucking business. It is my choice to work for him, its not like im indentured to that job and he is my master. Dont like the situation your in.. change it!
Couldn't agree more. About 2 months later the company slid me a blank check and said "what's it going take for you to stick around?" I politely told them to go fuck themselves and moved on.

Either, 1, you are a fall down drunk that cant comprehend the English language, or 2 you are to fucking lazy to read the earlier posts or 3, you are just to ignorant to understand what is being said, But for your stupid fucking moronic neanderthal ass i will say it again. It is not about jealousy, never was. It's more about respect.

Proper response woulda' been to fill out the check, deposit it, wait for it to clear, and email the bosses "Ten dollars more than you gave me."

I'll play by the rules. Dude, no need to be an asshole to others, just like there's no reason for me to be an asshole to you. Words on a screen...

Minne I'm sure you know how it works in IT. The check was symbolic for me to dictate a salary adjustment. I like your idea if it would have been a literal check though.

I wouldn't be so quick on that bullshit call. I coded for a pretty high profile company. I got offered a quarter million for a weekend's work for a job I had been expected to do on salary, after I quit. You see once they look to replace you they find out just how valuable you are :) errrr were.

I told them to keep it and enjoyed watching them flail :)

There are things worth more than money. They had just sold us all out to India. They fired all my engineers. I was expected to wrangle the off shore team. I left them to replace me as soon as I found other work. They then found how completely inadequate their new engineers were and begged me to step in and fix it. I laughed at them. None of my boys took the contract either. They paid double what they offered me to a large company that failed. :)

I did some very niche server work :)

Most of us walked on (a big computer security firm) when they sold the mail server division to Israeli Arms, gutted the firewalls they bought out (I wound up working for 'em in the first place, because they bought my company and IP) and sold the rest of the company to (the biggest failure in Computer Security, prior to the revelation the RSA took a $10M bribe to backdoor their security tools for the NSA) in a silent deal (I found out when I was installing firewalls in Boston.)

They offered most of us the same type of deal. No can do. Respect and integrity goes WELL BEFORE monetary gain... It was like this: A good check for a while, and a nasty shit stain on your career, or walking away, cutting losses, and starting up fresh to compete against the "big boys." (too bad I got sent to prison before I was properly re-launched.)

I worked in finance, the back-end processing of money that most folks don't even know exists. It became painfully clear that the greatest Industrial espionage of Finance industry and American public was being performed by the U.S. government and some international corporations strongly represented by retired Mossad agents. Wan't to know where the Venture capitol for the entire Pay Day loan industry comes from? Old Mob families, Retired U.S. Senators, and former Mossad agents. Sad but true.

MS just LOVES retired Mossad. Half of the contractors I dealt with from MS were Mossad. Not sure of the draw, they were arrogant, cocky, and didn't understand the a lot of the etiquette surround IT consulting. I did like one guy -- he made fun of the tie my daughter bought me for Christmas, so I brought my daughter in and she cussed him out. He apologized to her. ;-)

Oh those old Mossad men are really likeable guys, but then again I think rattlesnakes are attractive animals. I don't make it a habit of picking up and holding rattlesnakes though.

"and then the snake said to the old Indian woman who nursed it back to health after it bit her, 'Bitch you knew I was a rattlesnake when you picked me up'"
