Caddilac escalade for xmass.

So the misses has been working at the same spot for 10 years. christmas bonuses were cut this year, first time ever. She showed up to work this morning and there was a Cadillac escalade there with a big red bow on it. an xmass present from the company owner to his wife. now i understand its his money and he can do whatever he wants with it. ( by the way his father died and left him the business ). but i think a little tact could have been used in this situation, he should have hidden it somewhere else. Just a slap in the face to his workers.

Yea, i agree, a little tact would go a long way in this situation. Employers don't seem to understand employee morale and productivity much anymore. I bet he gets more office supplies stolen and more screwing off in the coming year.

yea I'm cool with the boss having jobs for people. he works hard to keep the place open. it is his business and he can do whatever it is he wants. I just think that a little tact is needed.

i didnt expect everyone to feel the same as I. there are those that think the worker is just a drone and should feel lucky to have a job and that they should take whatever it is they can and shut their mouths. I on the other hand , being a small business owner know the real value of having good employees. I feel good taking care of my help.

I just found out the old lady that has been working at my place of work for 20 years only makes $.25 more than me an hour. 20 fuckin years for a quarter. Then our morphine addicted boss says he can't afford to give her a raise then goes and buys a brand new $100k house.

Just waiting on Red to pop in and say your wife doesn't deserve a bonus.

It really wasn't about the bonus she handled that. She is glad to have a job. she is happy where she works. Shit she even makes good money for our part of the world. Its about respect, one can not demand respect, they can only command respect through your actions. His actions of crying poverty and then throwing it in his workers face is by no means a way to command respect. This of course is just my opinion.

I worked somewhere where raises had been frozen for 2 years running and Ceo had given himself 2 million dollar bonus EOY both of same years. A VP was retiring and he sent out a mass email that literally said.

" I want to let you all know how appreciative I am of you guys working so hard these last years. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have been able to buy my vinyard last summer. Why not start your own business work your ass off and buy your own Escalade. I never understood being jealous of the boss/owner, what he does with his loot is non of my fucking business. It is my choice to work for him, its not like im indentured to that job and he is my master. Dont like the situation your in.. change it!

It's called detrimental reliance on a course of performance. At least that's how I'd argue it but I just love to argue. Oh and I'd probably park my '89 Ford Probe so close he'd sweat blood hunting for all my different colors of primer on his passenger side door if he even bothered to look, but I'm nice like that.

It is a matter of etiquette. The social graces are mostly forgotten but they do work and they head off these kind of situations.
