Bushs' Folly

GK ...

The terrorism problem is not limited to Iraq, it's world wide. I don't need to "go inside myself" for answers to the problem. You can hide your head in the sand if you wish, but the facts are, these people want you, your family, your family's family, me, my family and everyone around us who do not think as they do ... dead!

I'm amazed by the level of denile that exists on this issue.

And by the way ... please just refer to me as Vi. Thanks

And ... all is forgiven, GK. A common error that's made is, if one speaks out against the Socialist (democrat) party, one is automatically associated with the Republican Party. I can assure you ... during the last election, I only voted for one Republican, and that was for a state office.

It matters not whom you voted for last time as that is old news. What matters in the structure of the vote is how you will vote this time. Whether you voted for Dubya or not, you champion his agenda, and that makes you a target of the thinkers on this site. Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together knows how fucked up Bush and his cohorts are. It's time to relinquish that feeling of joy you achieved when you got your huge tax rebate and get on with real life. Pull your head out and realize that the reasons that all these terrorists want to kill all of us (Your words) are that the US foriegn policy has raped and pillaged their lands for a hundred years or more. The only solution to terrorism is opening a dialog with their leaders. They want recognition and a share of the wealth. I'm not naive enough to believe that without the second coming we can love our way out of this mess, but by God we should sure as hell try a new approach as the one currently being applied does not work and bombing them out of existence is too barbaric. All you "Bomb their ass" guys should be sent to the front lines of Iraq immediately, for empathy training.

i pray for a peaceful ending to it all. i've been known to say "bomb their asses". it's the only way i see "the second coming". but...... the more opinions i read the more my views have been changing. i want peace. i love thy neighbor. i feel guilty when i have a jar of pot and you don't. that's just not right. what makes me any better than anyone one else in this world, that i can grow with no worries yet another can't. wtf???? i don't feel this is right. i dream of a day of unlocked doors and family bar-b-q's. on one hand it seems so simple. then on the other their is this one little factor: PSYCHO PEOPLE!!!!!!!

everyone wants peace.

if you're sick and twisted enough to think that a sitting president wants to blow up kids then i'll resort to your favored tactic GK: look inside.

we shouldn't have started the war in Iraq. we go there to remove Saddam and create a vacuum, the Arabs invade - predictable. it's a mess that was there waiting to happen. we're seeing what would have happened if Saddam was assassinated, or if Iran invaded again, all this potential for disaster was there already - we didn't create it.

running away is bad news. the imams are already giving praise to alah for the democrats - don't any of the "thinkers" have a problem with that??

i doubt it.

7X, I'm glad to see you using your head. "we shouldn't have started the war in Iraq" exactly, but "we" did, and therefore are directly responsible for what has and is happening. There is no viable solution that does not involve more thousands of deaths. The only sensible path is the venerable Cut and Run. The Iraqis will still sell us their oil. They will dispatch the al queda operatives, a strong man dictatorship, probably islamic, will emerge, they will blend with Iran and we can make peace with the region, It is the oil companies that are promoting this chaos, they are so greedy they want to control all the mideast oil. If we really want to straighten this mess out, we should go to war with the oil companies. I give you the final word on this: give me your plan for success that does not involve expanding war and instituting the Draft, and killing thousands more on both sides.

lol, you already knew that i've always said i wasn't ever sold on the Iraq war but i understand the reasoning for it.

by removing access to higher numbers of better trained troops you took away my favored solution, which you also know is total border lock down.

those people want to play hardball so i'd play hardball, it would be cheap too.

i would initiate a 2 week emergency evacuation for all US citizens in the middle east. citizens would be provided free transport home.

i would have the CIA and NSA give me control of all satellite based TV channels on the planet. i'd show the world pictures of mecca, tehran, a few other major Arab cities of importance. i'd then show clips of the Peacekeeper and it's multiple warhead capability, computer animations to convey the deadly precision and ruthless nature of this weapon.

i would announce to the world our frustration over the islamic extremists murdering rampages and explain that 50 cent terrorists will no longer hold the most powerful nation on the planet as hostages in terror.

i would then present a date, two weeks in the future. this is the deadline. ANY acts of terror or aggression against the US will result in total destruction of the Arab world and all islamic holy sites. this would be accompanied with fancy graphics/pics too.

any hostages who are currently in captivity would be thanked for their goodwill and hard work in those inhospitable regions.

it would be like their lame ass jihad videos except it would be made with real cameras, props and TOTAL assertion of power.

this would either wake them up or cause them to be extinct.

So you would play God with a few million arabs lives, knowing full well that you would butcher women and children on a scale not seen on this planet. Thank Allah you are not in charge. How can anyone have an Ego that large? To be able to just say, give me what I want or I'll kill everyone in your neighborhood, in fact in your part of the world. Pathetic, fucking pathetic. I think a tour of the frontlines of Iraq are exactly what you need. Be surrounded by dead and rotting corpses, have an IED blow up in your face, get the full treatment. You are not God, you can not play with a few million lives like a checker game. In fact you must be fucking crazy!

well, what's more crazy med, me holding all of them hostage or you bleeding my less dramatic strategy dry so we can all be hostages waiting for another 9/11?

it's very important that we rock their boat until their society catches up with the rest of civilization. hopefully, once that happens, there won't be so many of them willing to blow people up.

Fort Dix, anyone?

Vi
Venemous Vi, Really? They were going to attack a "MILITARY" base during wartime, what a fucking joke. Those MPs at the front gate have fully loaded M-16s and know how to use them. Do you think a car with 6 muslim looking men pulling up to the front gate wouldn't rouse suspicion. The first one out of the car would look like swiss cheeze. I was a Gate guard on one of my deployments and we watched for that shit all the time and it easn't even a terrorist frame of mind at the time. those MPs would eat those guys for lunch. I carried an M2carbine with a 20 round clip and a .45 side arm. the M2 was always on full auto and we carried a 6 clip belt. Front gates @ military bases are serious places.

The politicalization of Iraq and our "foreign policy" are both vivid examples of the weakness developing within our great country. America's silent citizens do the greatest damage by their silence. We, as a people, collectively get fatter and lazier and, all the while, we lose ground economically with the rest of the world.

Time to open our eyes and wake the fuck up.

Peace is a pipe-dream because unity among peoples is not possible.

I love my neighbor, but, I hate the general public overall (not counting you, of course)

Med ...

One of those guys who were planning the attack worked for his dad's pizza place. He traveled quite often past the MPs while delivering pizza to the GI's on the base.

And, I really don't give a rat's ass if you were am MP or what kind of weapons you carried or that you are a combat vet. That's all admirable of course, but it certainaly doesn't give your screwed up political ideas extra credence as you seem to imagine it does.

i'm not buying this media hyped "attack on Fort Dix" either. sounds like a small group of angry muslims (go figure) forgot to take their meds...

"attacking" an army fort is counterproductive, unless you have some serious firepower. it would be better to just jump off a building and try to crush people on the sidewalk below or something.

Fort Dix is irrelevent to the important issue. The issue of importance here is that three of those would-be terrorists were smuggled into the country across the Mexican border. The issue is ... they are here among us planning evil deeds. The other three were here leagally, raised here since childhood, educated in our schools, and yet, they are enemies of the country and they want all who do not think like them dead.

Both the politically correct crowd, and the Left are in denile on this issue.

i just have to ask, i'm really unclear.

what would be considered a "win" in this war?
That's the most pragmatic issue. For one the U.S. never declared war. Two we are occupying Iraq with the blessing of the Iraqi government.

We already defeated Saddam and have ruled out Iraq as a WMD threat, that was the success. Now, US troops are just in the way of a civil war.

So you are saying that I'm an ignorant slut, figures, coming from a draft dodger. What seems to make you the great patriot. Just because you got a big tax cut does not make you an expert on anything I can think of. You still approve of the wasted Bush agenda, who in the fuck will listen to you? I doubt your rhetoric finds much console here or anywhere for that matter. Keep spouting your venemous bullshit, I for one could care less what you think, take a long walk on a short pier.

good points Vi, i must admit that when i heard "6 terrorists planning attack on military base" on the news, it was tuned out as a laughable troll for headlines. the real issue is the immigration problem.

i watched a guy on TV last night try to defend illegals as "12 million people who improve our daily lives" and i wished i could reach in there and smack him. 12 million leeches sucking our already dreadfully precarious public resources dry while the anti-U.S. left hides them under their cloak of "compassion"...
