I have no idea. I just read the directions. This is my first real shot at doing these.

I have a big fruiting chamber I'll be throwing them into once they get going. It's all personal for me, I just overkill everything. Better odds that way.

Yep, it works. I can try new things as I go and learn but for now I wanted guaranteed results. In fact I just noticed some growth on 4 of the 7 jars after about 4 days. You can see the white spots starting in the middle.

keep them in a dark room temperature area do you have micropore tape on?

I have the lids with the holes punched and professional masking tape over. I pretty much followed the pf tech exactly and I'm storing them in my basement (70F) with the lids tight.

masking tape is a bad idea. they need to breath. micropore tape or nothing on the holes
