I'll post an update later today. Lets say i made it way too big and I spent too much money for just one plant. I may regret this!

The hole on the right is a passive air intake hole that I nailed another piece of plywood on top of with a clearance of about 1". Originally, it was supposed to be 8" in DIAMETER, but me and the guys at home depot make a 8" Radius hole! The plan was for a 8" piece of ducting to be the air intake and to hide the light from escaping, but I couldnt find anything that could cover up a 16" hole, so I just nailed plywood over it. Not sure how bad the light escape will be....

I cant express how frustrating putting this box together was. If the wood had been perfectly flat, it wouldnt have been so bad, but trying to get bowed wood to line up on the edges was such a challenge. I would have to nail on a temporary angle bracket, press the edges together while hammering on a new angle bracket to keep them together, and then take the older bracket it off and move it into a more permanent position. I had to do this for almost every bracket, but hey, im done, and having a door and a sealed box will make hiding this setup so much easier and also much easier to tend the plant.

So yeah, spent like 6 hours on it, but I figure with all the time I will save over the 3 month grow, this was a great investment. Tons of room for one plant, (hopefully) an airtight seal, good airflow if I can caulk right, conveinence, and I can lock it for security :) Spent way too much money on it though, but hopefully its a keeper :)

That box is small...are you growing auto's in there? By the time you subtract the space needed for the lights and then the pot, you wont have much space left.

you should have made a frame with wood that's 1" x 1" or 2" x 2". it would be sturdier and would have been way easier to build.

I wanted to do this at as low a price as I could have. All in all, I spent $90, but will be returning a few odds and ends and should be getting about $10 back. The box is about 4' tall, which is much more height than my last grow. Using CFLs, I usually position the lights on the sides of the buds to maximize the light intensity

I'm just doing one feminized plant. As long as the seed germinates, it will be an Arjans Haze #3 that I will LST for a low profile and use CFL lights again. The seeds are almost 2 years old, so hopefully there is no problem with them. If so, I'll just have to get a cutting from someone
