Bridgelux EB-series on a 2' x 4' SCROG

Heads up for anyone yet to build. The thermal tape did not hold. The end of one of the strips was hanging a couple inches when I went in there yesterday so I have put 2 self tappers into each 560mm strip.

It was 3M double sided tape. Should have just put the screws in to begin with really and not been lazy.

FWIW, the tape I ordered from Amazon is holding rock solid with no sign of sagging or loosening it's hold. May be a problem over time, but as you've done, nothing 3-4 screws can't fix.

CRI and CCT being equal, the power input/output, and subsequently, lumens, scale as a direct proportion to the various strip lengths. (48 x 280 mm) = (24 x 560 mm) = (12 x 1120 mm).

Using the 560mm strips does allow you to fill certain drivers better than 1120mm. Where you can fit 6 x 1120mm strips on one driver you can fit 13 of the 560mm so I guess you can squeeze a bit more power out using the 560mm. You'll just need to order 26 of them. For instance the 320H-C1050 driver has 305v, 13 x 560mm = 299v whereas the 1120mm strip fits 6 at 276v, not enough for 7 strips. So you squeeze an extra 25w out of the driver using 560mm.

Yeah it was only one corner of one strip that had come away, but better safe than sorry.

Otherwise, after 1 week, my mums and veg plants are enjoying themselves under the 4000k rays :)
 
So my veg light is being upgraded to get better coverage in my veg tent (80x80x160cm) ... Making up this 60cm x 60cm frame to have another 4 strips... So thats 8 strips total @700ma for my veg tent :D

@graying.geek how did you measure out your spread? im useless at maths lol I want to set them up a bit more to the outside to get that even spread ;)

In attempt to be precise, I calc'd it using the log of the number of strips to increase the spacing toward the middle, *but*, I would have done just as well by wagging it, as you, and others have done. That said, your middle space seems a bit wide but you certainly have the right idea. Ideally you could lay out the strips in whatever pattern you end up with, light them up, then check for even spread with a free LUX app. Re-position the strips, and check again.
 
I finished up my 2nd light, much happier with this one, pop rivets made it so much easier and it's much sturdier. Will fix the other one up when I can get some more ALU. How's yours going @confined?

One of my 2x2 panels (11 EB 560s, 700ma MW ELG 240) has a slight concave flex, due to thin aluminum framing, and roll stock backing. I justified leaving it that way as, a means to distribute photons from the center strips for balance, as I had not been educated on unequal spacing as of the build day. LOL
