You would use the same driver but you can actually run 13 of the 560mm on each driver so your total wattage would increase by about 50w to 650w total. So you can have 13 rows instead of 12.

If you get the version with A on the end (C1050A) it will have a screw on the driver you use to dim from 50% power to 100% power.
If you get the B version the driver has 2 wires that you connect yourself to a potentiometer.
At 1050ma it will run the strips at about 25w each.

There are cheaper alternatives for drivers as you'll see in this thread with other guys builds but these are about as good a quality as you can get.

I order mine from Digikey <-----that's a link. Free shipping on orders over $100. I ordered on a Thursday night thinking I'd get it the next week....but it showed up the very next day. So I guess the free 1 day shipping is for real. I've ordered multiple times from them and it's quality packaging and super fast shipping.

I bought 3000K and 4000K but I still haven't put my light together. I'm actually still growing outdoors and can't grow inside at the same time by law. I will be getting it built within' the next week or two though.
If you're using your light for veg and flower then just get 3500K or a mix of 3000/4000K or even 3000/5000K. It won't change the end result much so no need to worry about spectrum too much.

Yeah I was wondering if I should mix spectrums or not but I may just gear it more towards a dedicated flower light.
Some are 5 bucks and some are twenty, how should I be selecting for maximum efficiency?
 
Just select the size you want first, ie 560mm or 1120mm. The prices vary based on size of the strip. Efficiency is based on the diode so they are all the same regardless of size.
 
Hey guys. Newbie here, be easy. So I am extremely under lighted right now in a 1m2 tent. I have a Mars hydro 300, eBay deal ( I know, I know) so I have been contimplating getting a 600 w hid, or building a cob setup. I have done so much reading my brain hurts. So I have a 1 m2 tent. What would the pros do? Is it cost effective to build a cob setup? My current run is 3 x candy cane auto flowers, I have 12 other auto flowers coming. My plan was to run them on a straight 24 hour light cycle and add 2 every 5 weeks. This way I can build a substantial supply in shorter time. This is to supply my household/in-laws which average 2.5 oz a month/ maybe off set my costs as well. I am fully into this as a hobby as well as a way of providing ( like hunting). I am a 12 year vet of service rigs and not afraid of some constructive critism.

Look into strip lights. Some 22" Samsung or Bridgelux strips would light that up really nice.

I just pulled 8 ounces from that girl under ~200W of strips in a 2x4 ft space.

A cob setup is a great idea although this thread is about strips. There are companies like cobkits and timber who sell kits that are ready to assemble which takes the guesswork out of the equation.
If you want to build a light using strips it's fairly easy and the least expensive vs other led options. Just mount the strips to angle, channel, flatbar aluminum and wire it up and you're good to go. It's cheaper because special heatsinks are not required.
You can also look into getting a Quantum Board DIY kit which is probably the most efficient and popular lights to build right now. 4 boards at 80w per board or so would be great.

Can you recommend any Canadian suppliers for strips?
 
Hey guys I'm getting ready to build my frame and just had a last minute question before I go ahead and order my 44 inch strips.
I have some 1inch by 1/8 aluminum angle and flatbar, and wanted to do two frames of 6 strips each. The frame would be 22 by 46 inches ideally.
My tent is actually 47 inches with 3/4 poles that must be taken into account.
So basically everything would be super tight.
Would it be a problem if my tent (sides being sucked in due to negative pressure) were to be touching the frame directly?
 
It won't be a problem if your tent touched the edge of your fixture and you can use 1/16th" but 1/8th is usually close in price and much more rigid. I've seen people build frames that twist and warp etc because they are so flimsy. I'm using 1/16th material but it's square tubing.

Thanks, crappy tire didn't have enough of the 1/8 angle AL, so I picked up some 1/16.

I have enough 1/8 for the outside frame anyways.

Thanks for your help I'll be sure to post pictures here once it's all complete.
