Bong wont come clean!

Roor makes a cleaner that I've ordered in the past and it works very well. It's some type of nasty chemical but it's stronger then anything I have ever used. Sounds like you need to soak it in some of this. I always add rock salt to the mix and it breaks thru everything after a bit of time.
 
Get hot water and rinse in threw the bong and shake it around enough so that you can feel your bong being a little warm.

Once it's warm, empty out the water.

Go to home depot and get a 1 gallon container of Zep's Orange Citrus Degreaser. It is around $9 for the gallon.

Fill up the warmed bong with the Zep's all the way to the top, do not dilute it with water. You will need to find a stopper to put where the down stem usually is. Shake it for 30-60 secs and let it sit overnight. Check to see if the resin has come off, if not shake again and let it sit. It should be clean by now.

I'm gunna soak it in veg oil first - then I'll head out to the store if that doesnt work(home depot is probably 30 mins away - would local hw store have it?)

Not sure what you hope to accomplish with the vegetable oil bud good luck. Home Depot, Lowes, big ones like that have it. If you're going to a smaller hardware store call and check. It will get your bong clean though.
 
Let it soak in vinegar for a few days, it shouldn't hurt the glass. That stuff will get rust off metal, I used it to clean out a motorcycle gas tank that had been sitting for years, it got out all the rust and hardened sludge out of the tank.

Vinegar will do rust but not greasy char. cn

oil breaks down the bonds, like making butter. try rubbing some on your hands and scissors next time you trim, makes it much easier.
