i am new at this. those pots look like they are from the klingon system, captain... what are they?
Theyre air pots. Really good for transplanting because the roots dont get wrapped. Im going to be switching over to vegging in air pots and transplanting into the htg brand smart pots since theyre cheaper than air pots and do a similar thing and the roots will barely be circling by the end of flower.

Come in handy when youve got mothers in veg you dont want to transplant or take up alot of space. Ive had mothers in 1 gallon air pots give me over 20 clones a piece and the foot print was only a 7 inch diameter circle. So they really help when youre in tight situatioins haha.

go figure. i am using smart pots (3 gallon)and didn't know it. i got them from htg. my first grow(which was also the last one i did) the root balls fill the pots up pretty well but the root did not grow through the bottom. i guess that is air pruning.i am on my second grow with them after running them through a wash cycle in my washing machine.

Nice ive heard theyre awesome!

If you have trays under them, which you should because they can leak if you water them too much at once, then you should fill that tray up with perlite most of the way. That way when the roots start to grow through the bottom they can have something to grab onto.

Helps catch run off too so it will increase your humidity, which in the winter is a good thing, and help you plant go that extra half day without watering, and your roots will love them too!

so an interesting little diddy about runoff. i was having a problem with humidity in my tent so i got some damprid. thinking i would save some money, i bought a refill bag of it without the container that you are supposed to use. i put the stuff in some stockings and hung them up in the tent. it took the humidity down but apparently damprid absorbs the water and condenses it. the condensation wound up on the floor of my tent. i was out of town and had my sons caring for the plants and they didn't notice the condensation on the floor. damprid is calcium carbonate and sodium chloride both of which i guess wind up in the condensation. 2 of my plants were not up off the floor and the condensation soaked into the bottom of the felt pots. the shit wound up killing those 2 plants which were the healthiest. they were probably a week or 2 from harvest too. doh! i dried them and the smoke is ok but the yield was awful. lesson learned. now my pots are up on drying racks. i don't use damprid either. i am going to stick a dehumidifier in my tent for the dark cycle instead because i have seen the humidity shoot up into the 80's.

I just got one of those little small room dehumidifiers. Does like 10 pints a day or something. Really small amount. Maybe a liter or 2 max.

But thats all you really need in a tent. I have enough air movement and other things good to thwart off mold but it never hurts to take that little extra bit out of the air. Now that its fall/winter though im in the clear. I can already feel my lips crackin its so dry.

Can't wait to see how the Blue Widow turns out, man. :::subbed::: I've been looking for a nice cheap humidifier. I had to veg in the flower tent this run, and humidity drops to like 30% sometimes. Where'd you pick that up?

Thanks! W already lost the one seedling that had a rough life from the beginning. haha But the other one is lookin good.

And i was talking about a DE-humidifier. If you want more humidity, try leaving out a bucket of water. Id mix some hydrogen peroxide with it to discourage mold and other bad things to grow in it. Or if you have a cloning tray, fill it with perlite and pour water on top of it. This gives the water alot of surface area to be pulled into the atmosphere. Throw a heat mat under it and it should double the humidity if its not enough with just the water and perlite. Also id keep it outside of your tent.

I always notice that when im runnin clones my humidity in my room is up about 10%-20%

No major growth. Still in that seedling phase. Got a bit of new growth but still in the seedling phase. Probably start on nutes in a week or so.

Haha. Thanks, man. Sorry about that. My phone's screen is super tiny. Some good ideas there. Wish you the best of luck on your run.

Well the blue widow wasnt doin much and i think its the cheap soil i bought quickly just to transplant a few plants is the reason. It caused the ones i transplanted it into to turn a little yellow and it refused to let my seedling grow for some reason. LAst time i grab shitty ass dirt from a hardware store. I love my pro-mix.

So unfortunately this thread is done but im going to be starting up THE DOG by Breeders Boutique in a couple days. Itll be an all led grow.

Ill have 2 305w panels from growevolution.com

gonna be using one of them with half the panel on for the beginning of veg, then switch over to a full panel once the seedlings have established themselves.

Then ill have both panels on full blast for the flower. so itll be a good test to see how they compare to the tried and true 600w HPS

Ill only be usin 10 more watts than the 600w but in reality i use fans to pull away air form the cooltube that i know are over 10 watts so in my book its a dead on comparison. if anything the leds are slightly less watts than the 600 hps but im pretty confident in the technology thats around now a days that theyll at minimum keep up with them, hopefully, out shine them.

I will post a link here to the grow for those watching this one.

Its going to be alot better than the blue widow could have ever been haha.

Thanks for watching, hope you join me next time. Should be startin up any day now.
