Yeah he's a 5 month old Cattle Dog mix and very food motivated. Picks up stuff real quick. Just trying to make the car rides more organic feeling or something. Good tip on the tiring him out. Aldi's has these beef stick things for real cheap he loves.

Here he is. He's so cute and innocent when he wrestles with his bed!

My secret to making dogs love car rides. I take them to In n Out. Seriously, I'm not kidding. I take these dogs weekly to In n Out for a patty. So, one time it ends in the regular vet or the dentist vet, but the other 9 times out of 10 it's burgers. They run to the car faster than I do. They forget the bad destinations fast.

That'd add 25 hours each way to my trip

That's a great tip! As soon as they crack that pesky Mississippi divide I'll give it a go. :-P But yeah, load them up with pleasurable memories, that's good stuff. His problem is he gets sick and pukes everywhere. Not so much the truck in general. He loves being near me. And wants to come. I've been taking him to a park like 5 min away. But He's just like… am I moving, what's moving… :spew:lol.

Yes motion sickness :) The more he experiences the ride the better he'll feel. But McDonalds has hamburgers. Is there a McDonalds close? Buy him a burger plain with nothing on it and give the buns to the birds. You may have to clean up some nausea the first few times but your vestibule gets used to motion the more you experience it. Don't ask me how many sectionals I barfed in during aerobatic training and then came the day I didn't ;D

Fo sho. I think the kids still say that? (I'll ask my daughter when she gets home.) The park down the street has been a good advantage. I think he does realize a ride doesn't always equal a shot now. And have made progress. The last 2 times we got to the park without him puking. But it was close lol. But he didn't even last a minute or so on the way home. But yeah I think the only way to defeat it is more rides. I looked at the akc website just now for more tips and they're pushing cbd now lol.

PS almost forgot. Neo with dogs and kids I highly recommend this and their floor mats

It's saved my seats and carpeting from barf and the floor liners can hold an entire soda, dog pee, poop or barf.

I give my seniors CBD, twice a day. It seems to help them with their joint stiffness and it helped me taper Pearl off mycophenolate and managed her seizures.

I've had the floor liners since day 1 with the truck! And got the seat covers a few months ago! Not the super awesome expensive weather tech seat covers. But decently cheap decent Amazon seat covers. Definitely a blessing lol.
