Bill Nye owns Heritage retard on climate change

China's going crazy damming rivers everywhere they can for hydroelectric. They know they have to phase out coal. They plan on it. No one has to force them. They're planning ahead.
I don't fear the Chinese. this dynasty will disintegrate like all the ones before it.
It isn't just coal. The Chinese are falling in love with the automobile. And there are other areas where they are stepping up carbon footprint.

Ok, thanks for your input. What background in science do you have, and why should I take your opinion seriously?

I've already read the reports from the scientists, and they say humans have been the main cause for the increase in global warming.
You said they were the main contributor of co2. Totally different thing. And you never read any scientific reports, You watched sound bites on TV. Don't try to aggrandize vegging in front of MSNBC

I don't even have cable.

I read online. Try it sometime!

Humans are the main reason the earth is warming.

What you fail to consider is the ecosystem of the planet. Humans will adapt, the plants, you know, our main food source and the main source of food to the meat we eat, won't. What do you think will happen when the environment creates longer droughts, stronger hurricanes and floods, shorter growing seasons and unstable conditions to grow food? There will be food shortages, and if you know anything about history, resource shortages always lead to a fight over control of those resources.

It's a lot more than "adapt, deal with it". That's why people like you aren't in charge of making decisions, that's why climate science continues to progress and advance, and why, despite your best efforts, in the end, you will lose. You'll kick and scream the entire way there, but it's inevitable. There's not a subject in history that such a vast majority of scientists were in complete agreement about.

Deal with that :bigjoint:

Meanwhile... Heritage Valley retard think he gots a point becuz ya know.. hurricanes and stuff..

Comedy gold!
Actually, plants, and food crops thrive in warmer climates with more co2. It was a global warming period that ended the dark ages and brought the Renaissance. So either way, you have no idea what you're talking about

It's not even my opinion. It's the opinion of the experts, who have studied the data, done the tests, etc., etc. Stop being scientifically retarded.

Why shouldn't someone be angry about their fellow citizens being wilfully taken advantage of to promote their own political and financial gains? Or about those same people effectively dumbing down the public education system to further advance those same goals? Why shouldn't someone be angry about their fellow citizens supporting a system of government control in one breath while simultaneously opposing that same exact system the next?

If you're not angry, you're not paying attention. You're a lemming who should just go back to sleep anyway. At least there you're out of the way of actual progress.

You said before you don't have anything to win. That's bullshit, and here's why; if you weren't in it to win, you wouldn't argue character like you did with this bullshit post. You would argue the facts, you would make any attempt at all to educate yourself about the issue before exposing yourself as clueless.

Read a book, take a class, learn how science actually works and argue that. Turn off your TV and stop listening to people who have a vested financial interest in making sure you don't know or understand these things
Funny how you demand others argue facts, while you deride and insult those who do.

Meanwhile, 97% of publishing climate scientists in the entire fucking world are laughing in your face

Every single international science academy, world-fucking-wide accepts ACC

Yeah, it's safe to say my side is winning.

If this was boxing, this would be the match up;

v.

Me You

That's metaphorically an exact representation of the strength of each argument, yet you dummies keep putting money down on "the blue eyed killer" because his marketing team spent hundreds of millions lying about his record. The scientific community is trying to tell you there's no way this kid has 47 1st round knockouts while his agent and coaches are telling you he murdered 13 guys before they ever hit the mat and he's torn guys arms off and all this other shit you seem to fall for hook, line and sinker... As an unbiased spectator, I'll admit, I enjoy watching such destruction inside the ring, but at a certain point it's just sad.. Especially when your wife and family doesn't have any food to eat for the month because you bet this months wages on blue eyes...
So, had to pull out the "97% lie" again? Tell us more about how "your side" is winning.

The 97% figure comes from two independent studies, each employing different methodologies. One study surveyed all climate scientists who have publicly signed declarations supporting or rejecting the consensus (Anderegg 2010). Another study directly asked earth scientists the following question "Do you think human activity is a significant contributing factor in changing mean global temperatures?" They found 97% of actively publishing climate scientists answered yes (Doran 2009). As "climate scientists actively publishing peer-reviewed research on climate change" doesn't really roll off the tongue, I abbreviated that down to "climate experts".

Actually, it WAS your opinion. No scientists are saying humans are the main contributor to global warming.

Humans contribute <3% of the co2 generated annually. So, no, not the main reason.
The extra co2 we pump into the air is being absorbed by the oceans. This wasn't happening before we started burning fossil fuels at an exponential rate.

I thought the consensus was that the earth was in a warming period without human activity. The argument is that we are making it worse.

You are an imbecile.

So you changed the statement and try to pretend it's still true even tho it says something different.

the one thing I want to see settled is the temp/CO2 correlation. It's the chicken or egg argument. We've seen steady temps for a decade but a 20% increase in CO2. Was that increase due to the record heat the decade before or are we in for a hellish decade to come.

Time is going to settle a lot of these arguments. Our research is relatively new to the science world and a larger sample size will give us more data.

If we keep emotion and politics out of it we may even do something about it;.
