Afternoon all, had a bit of a mess about with the plants this morning, a couple of things needing done that's better done now rather than later. Ok the vegging of the Trainwrecks is complete, its been a 48 day veg and if I don't mind saying so myself they are looking good, a little yellowing of some lower leaves but will make a mental note to up the nitrogen near the end of vegging, heres a pic before they flip to 12/12 Trainwreck 48 Days Fully Vegged Pre Cloning.jpgI also bought some Epsom Salts and gave it to them as a magnesium boost as recommended by many growers. Before I put them into flower I was determined to take a few clones, so that if these Trainwrecks turn out to be the super croppers that the boastful grower who gave my boy then in the first place claims, then Ive got a rooted clone or two to perpetuate them. I got all the stuff together to clone, first time Ive tried this cloning lark, heres a picTrainwreck 48 Days From Rooting Fully Vegged Taking Clones.jpgand being careful to do things as Ive seen them done in many RIU threads here is the resultant clones, I have a heated propagator tray which is where they will hopefully root, dim light for first couple of days, moving to under a CFL for another couple of days, then just wait, fingers crossed, to see if they take. heres the young uns, may the Lord have mercy on their wee clony souls.

The Timewrecks are looking good Bilbo, that`s a damn fine amount of veg time for them, should yield you some decent nuggers. Nice cloning job as well mate ;)

Group Nirvana Northern Lights 42 Days From Seed 1.jpgTrainwreck Clones 1 Still Alive.jpgNow the Northern Lights have the cupboard to themselves as the Trainwrecks flower at their flowering location, will still post weekly pics of the Trainwrecks for those who want to see them flower. done a fair bit of tying down on the Northern Lights today in my quest to keep this grow down to a couple of feet in height, these Northern Lights are tough buggers, when I finished my tying down shift they looked like someone had dragged them through a hedge backwards, but only an hour later they were pointing up, nice as you like towards the light. Reckon I'll veg the NL another week before flipping them. NL are now 42 days from seed heres a pic, also my day old clones which seem to be still alive.

the dwarfs are masters at keeping the plants, a lot like themselves rather low to the ground.. an old trick they have passed on is topping when you are happy with half height, then keep them vegging for a couple of weeks while all the lower branches catch up to the height which you topped. by this time the multiple new leaders from where you topped will be higher then the rest of the canopy so you tie these down until they are horizontal and even with the rest of the canopy. You can do the same with the branches below where you topped if they stretch past the canopy, just tie them down even with the rest and then flower

Tis Sunday and its the day when I flip my Northern Lights into 12/12, before doing that I light proofed the closet, and made a decision to bin one of my plants, right from the start this one plant has been causing me a bit of concern, its had wee kind of stunted deformed leaves which sprout from the centre, kind of variegated in the middle and leaves sometimes looking as if something has been eating them. Its just this one plant so I assume its just one of the occasion genetic mutants that Nirvana throws up, usually one oddball in every pack of five. So that's three goers I got and at least the ones I got left and robust healthy buggers. will post pics later once the light comes on at 8. Timer now set from 8pm to 8am God help the chink of light that dares to enter the Dark Lord's lightless domain during these hours.

NL Group 49V 1 Flip 1.jpgShort Monday update tonight, short because my camera battery run out after only two pics, I really will have to buy a recharging battery gadget rather than putting in expensive duracells. Just as well anyway, put my NL into 12/12 yesterday and theres nothing much to see except the usual cupboard full of leaves, expecting the stretch to kick off though and with that in mind Ive kept them under the 250W metal Halide for now as I have read that there is less stretch under a MH than a Sodium.NL Group 49V 1 Flip 2.jpg

Keep your light distance in check Bilbo and that will do the most for the anti-stretch campaign you`re running, haha ;). Otherwise looks great brother, sure like to see a nice packed canopy with such variety. Loving it man, keep us updated,

Yeah Kush thanks for dropping in

The 250W Metal Halide is about 12 inches above the canopy just now, although its looking less like a canopy by the day as the leaders are leaving some of the lewer branches behing, still in a Darwinian way its survival of the fittest under that light just now

Sounds about right mate. I use a circ fan pointing upwards on my 400 dedicated just to moving hot air away and I keep about 12-14 inches usually with the less-strecthcy kush varieties. You`re good to good to go buddy :bigjoint:,

Good news on the clone front, one of them has sprouted a wee root from the rockwool cube. Basic stuff I know but Ive never cloned before, now I know how to do this, its full steam ahead with the best plants which veg from a packet of seeds, maybe only the odd new one from seed, and geraniums and all sorts from the garden will be getting the treatment too.

Nirvana NL 6 Day Flip Group 1.jpgNirvana NL 6 Day Flip 5.jpgNirvana NL 6 Day Flip 1.jpgG2TW Rooted Clone.jpgOk Saturday night and a few pics last one shows my limited success on the cloning front, now standing at 2 out of 5 rooted. some pistil hairs and a bit of stretch you can see in the group pic. one of my plants is showing a bit more lower root yellowing than the others so hope that don't turn into anything serious. anyway boring at this stage I know but hopefully we'll soon have some buds.

Voyagers Menu Apr 13.jpgMentioned on Kush's critical thread that there was a strain in Amsterdam this March called Kosher Kush, this strain name seemed to be greeted by much hilarity when Voyagers started to sell it, but it was a hell of a smoke. not sure if its a genuine strain, but I copy this menu pic from Voyagers to prove they do sell '' Kosher Kush '' I also post it to cheer myself up when I look at it Voyagers is a class shop .
