sorry I didn't realize you meant Africa only. I read not long ago that it was over 25,000 globally most in India.
Several articles have identified "the mosquito" as the deadliest animal in Africa. This contains a similar bit of indirection. Mosquitoes are rarely a primary cause of death, although there are recorded instances of cattle dying of not enough blood after being caught in East Texas "mosquito storms".

Usually it's the pathogens (malaria, dengue etc.) borne by the little flying needlefaces that are the cause of mosquito-borne death. Half a million per year in Africa alone.

Aiee. That sounds like death by a thousand rats.
You know, there's a lot of misunderstanding about rats. The rodendus vermikitis as they're called in Latin. It turns out our long tailed friend wasn't after all responsible for the dreaded bubonic plague as alleged through history. Yes, sir. It was caused by an animal called the bubon. That's right, and the threat by the way is still with us. So if anyone does see a bubon, contact your local authorities.

Nice try at rewriting history, but bubons are just big rats with hands. :joint::bigjoint:

I am high as a kite in a gale, and these last posts in succession tickled me pink. Would recommend to friends and family.
Funniest thing I've seen so week! Someone that knows how to chop and crop could make a million like meme with that.

My moose hunting spot is just about in the center of the top of the pic in the mountains.
Early snow is fabulous as it kicks in the rut & the bulls move and talk alot.
It is lining up to be a Great season so far!

Awesome man, I love your state. Hope you bag a nice one. I just got back from a fishing trip on the Kenai, spent some time around Anchorage too. I was going to post some fish pics in the fishing thread but couldn't find it last night, lol. It's just called "fishing" right?
