Mars will do just fine mate. I'd go with 4-5 of the mars300 models for that space. The more you can spread them out the better. Or grab yourself a 600w/1000w HID setup.

Building is better, and will save watts, but will cost a bit more than budget leds.

Why would you ever promote anything other than cobs

The man linked a UK eBay for a £100 led. If you think he can light a 4'x4' with cobs on this area of a budget, then point him to some components in the EU already. He's not gonna be getting a tasty led shipped to the UK....

And you can always upgrade later. I've had 3 like this hanging up running 24/0 for about 6 months now(and 6-8 months as original mars300s)

I've got a budget of $600< - These lights are the cheapest I could find that were pre-built.

Building my own wouldn't be a problem, need a link to a place where I can buy everything, its all hush hush

I used 5 Mars 300 for about 2 years. Heat issues in my enclosed area. I also had to repair or replace several in those 2 years. They worked ok. I built diy about 3 years ago. Vero 29 first. I use a coolhood cxb3590 diy. No heat issues and much faster growth rate. imho

I honestly think you should take one for the team and purchase an EcoSunLite. He has an account on here
@Ecosunlite CREE LED and has a 6 cob unit with 9 mono sites as well. It's a Goooood bang for your buck and a LOT OF us are curious to see how it performs. You'd wanna keep a very dedicated journal to show what it can do but I have faith in it and think you'd be happy. It's just like an amare.

Guys I need to quit being lazy and make the CXA\2 studio light 5700k 36v 93CRI and test it out. The 60w CXB3590 6500k DD is killing it in my 2x4 tent it's like over 70% efficiency 72v ran @250ma(HLG-185H-C500A turned down)
