Aero, I'm gonna have to see if I can find that, that sounds like the perfect strain I need! If you hear anything about clones let me know for sure! Here's my tangilope, it's the two in the front, they finally started to stretch a little, very late compared to the others, haven't had to supercrop it at all yet and been super cropping everything else, it'll be nice if this one stays short

Thcbreeder, some strains just NEED defoliation, even though it goes against everything in the books, I don't think the people in the books were growing anything like us lol. If I didn't defoliate the tangilop it would hhave turned to shit real fast. I started with lst, not for growth, but to spread out the plant for air flow. I can't do any more lst to it so the leaves gotta go lol

Just I defoilated my liberty haze . She's just loving it
I've never defoliated. Lollipop indoor...sure. Even that goes against uncle ben, i know, but I do it. I've been growing my whole life(i'm 43)indoor and out, i sware to god, I don't understand why you guys would pluck fan leaves. Anyways, Alpha, I'll try my best to score you a cut, k.
You really need to have the blueknight.
My bud mad some crosses with it. The white X blueknight =White knight. And more recently, Chemknight. Harborside oakland has some crosses of it to smoke on(sun grown)

Aero That'd be great man, I'd appreciate that a lot! I've never plucked too many leaves either, but the tangilope is growing leaves bigger than phone books, I don't understand how since it's indoor, I'll have to find some pics of these things, they dwarf my hand lol. It was just getting tons of moisture buildup between the overlapping, pretty much little puddles on the leaves everywhere even with the fans blowing on it, it seems to be doing okay though, but still throwing out big leaves every day that overlap pretty bad, here's a pic with out the hps, it's just so thick, probably 30 tops per plant and too many side branches, this is after the lollipop. If it turns out to be good I'd definitely have some cuts for trade, it would do do much better out side like you were saying brother man

I do it because of canopy control and experience with the strain . I don't take all of them . Just the top 8 inches down and around the plant so light reaches lower . I didn't touch my blue dream which has dinner plate fan leaves and not many of them . But the liberty had more than enough to spare and she won't miss em.

I've been looking at something GSC but not sure where to start, it seems like the best gsc strains are coming from bag seeds but the Animal cookies has me interested. GG #4 also has me interested.
GSC is a funny thing. There is _alot_ of variations between what people claim to be GSC. The GSC cut is not a high yield cut. Alot of people say all GSC is fake or isnt out there at all.. I'm pretty sure that this _is_ the cut.

1) 15.5 to 23%THC.. Sorry I dont have THC/CBN ratio..
2) The color is out of this world, Purple Black leaves, Purple Hues, and a thick layer of resin.
3) Medium Stretch, not to horrible.. Thinner sativa like leaves.
4) Unique smell, all I gotta say is thank god its not another citrus type smell. :) Musky kinda sweet smell.
5) Small colas..

I honestly would be more interested in a high yield Diesel GG4 or Diesels like Chemdog. I like Chemdog but the yield is kinda so-so, I just love the punchy diesels. I mean I like GSC but its a bit too much hype.

If you are in the Anchorage area I would totally hook you up with a GSC cut.(s).

No doubt growergonewild, freakin wish i was near anchorage! I'd love the gsc cut. You're right on about it, the gsc is supposedly a bag seed clone only, from what I hear, and all the others are just crosses or not the real deal. There's ogkb, forum, animal and thin mint from what I heard and ogkb is the original but the least yielding while the others yield a little better. The gg4 i see can be a freaking monster of huge nugs and just sticky dankness, GSC and GG4 need to be crossed at some point. I really want to get back into crossing some stuff, I've been looking for a NL #5 male but the packs i want are sold out and the tangerine kush i need is back in stock finally after a long long time of being sold out. One of the best crosses I've had in a long time, crossed them on accident, grew the NL5 xTK out for years and then lost it a few years back

Yeah, I got my GSC from cut.. not some seedbank.. Not that theres anything wrong with seeds, its just that looking at everybodys GSC seed they dont look like my GSC cut. not that its a bad thing..

The only thing that's hurting GSC is the yield. if the yield was better I would love it. I mean really to get the ammount that I need from GSC I almost need to mono crop the strain. Not cool, because I love variety in the greenhouse.

NL5 seems like a good base.. I got away from it years ago because it was so _plain_ it was the white wonderbread of the cannabis world. I could see GSC crossed with NL5 in hopes of keeping the unusual traits but I would like to see it crossed with something "chunky" like Afghani... Might be a cross with more vigor.. I'm not a big fan of polyhybrids.

GG4 is another one I'm totally interested in as-is. Now from what I understand this is clone only too, I'm seeing GG4 clones offered in Washington.. I just have to make sure its legit. BTW the creator of GG4 Josey Whales is on ICmag. What draws me to it is the resin production.. _wow_ very impressive.

I think people confuse pruning with defoliation... Pruning is common practice for directing growth on fruiting plants. Defoliation is a tool to stunt or delay a plant or section.

In my opinion neither is a method to boost yield. Tuck before you pluck, and if you need to prune, there's nothing saying that you have to take the entire fan leaf off. Cut the part off thats causing the problem.

Ok.. no more defol/trim comments from me in this thread..

I hear ya about the low yielding strains, it seems most of the Supreme strains are low yield or 14 wk flower times lol. I wish I could Grow out a few land race strains but I just can't with the limited space, not to mention 3.5 months to flower. I start running out of my meds around 2 months after harvest so I gotta stick with the 9-10 week flowering range. I'd Def trade a cut of tangilope for a gscno doubt man, if iI find myself out your way or you out my way definitely let me know, I'm out in nor Cal. And I kinda misspoke about the defoliation, it was more of a selective pruning, though I feel like I'm murdering the plant everything I pluck something lol. I just can't risk mold or mildew, if I put a fan directly on the plant it would probably clear up the moisture but it would be wind burned bad. Next grow I'm going to try to different route and not top the tangilope too much and see if it still gets too thick, I might have topped it one too many times :p

Skywalker OG has been good to us this year ... View attachment 3307458
I started a pack of seeds, ALL of them had shit ton of balls. I didn't even bother plucking them balls and finishing(threw em away). My buddy has a great pheno of it though, bomb diggity for sure;-)

I can't really get a good photo of that tangilope rite now Alpha, but here is a couple. Remember, it's usually in back of the tray. i pulled a couple others out, and took these. Doesn't do the plant justice. And im tryjng to take pictures in the dark:dunce:I'll try to take a picture of the whole plant, when I chop down in a few days. 8.5 weeks from flip:

What's up. Just trying to get some opinions of the best strains you've grown or smoked this year? Looking to get a new strain running in the garden come the new year and there's been a few catching my eye. But I know a lot of awesome strains go unnoticed. So what was your favorite for the year to grow or smoke?

I've been looking at something GSC but not sure where to start, it seems like the best gsc strains are coming from bag seeds but the Animal cookies has me interested. GG #4 also has me interested.

So anyone have any recommendations of something so good it'll blow my mind? Anything exotic would be best.
Sannie's Sugar Punch.

yeah skywalker og is definitley some good smoke that's for sure, that sucks there were a ton of herms in the packs though.

That tangilope is crazy, i can't wait until mine starts flowering, it's still doing nothing so far 10 days into 12/12. It looks like it wants to start flowering though, there are so many damn bud sites it should turn out good. The tahoe looks killer too! I did the larry og from CC last run and the buds were no where near that big, does the tahoe usually get chunky like that or is that a killer pheno? That's a keeper by the looks of it, I never get huge nugs on any og i run, but it's ALWAYS dank smoke :p

Coyotebob, what is this Sannie's Sugar Punch all about? Can't find it on the attitude seed bank. The sannies website looks pretty sweet and the prices are good, really cool that they do a video of the grows for the seeds they sell. I'm gonna have to look into these guys more, they sound legit and the sugar punch looks like a dank cross

I have a couple other phenos that are even bigger, but sort of fluffy looking. Plus they don't smell or taste like the one I'm keeping. I'm ditching them, because they really aren't what I'm after. Most were smaller though. Some had balls, so I'm not even going to speak of them:-D
