boomer, i was wondering if there is anything you do to attempt to seal the area where the styrofoam and cooler meet. i was just wondering as i havent checked to see if water would run down the sides from bubbles splashing water up.

sorry for the back to back posting by the way, i figured i would have to bump to get an answer =-D

if possible i needed some advice about my setup, here is the scenario:

i have finally managed to get a little time at home from work, and now i should be able to pick up my clones. i have the above pictured closet, and a second one with a t5 light for mother/clone. i am planning on picking up four clones to put in my cooler, and two others for mothers that i will put in dirt pots. the cooler setup i was just wondering about starting out with new clones, should i fill my cooler all the way with water and no nutes, and then gradually raise ppm based on feeding schedule? also, if i have the water almost touching the rocks with that be bad? also will i have to hand water them for more than a few days? i had read countless threads on everything here, but i just want to know from someone who is doing this setup for sure. i'm not sure yet if the clones will be rockwool, or dirt yet. i expect them to be rooted a bit, and expect to have to transplant them to hydroton (5.5" netpots). is there anything i should expect or be careful to do, aside from common sense things like being gentle on the roots?

Fill the cooler to 2 fingers below the net pot, in the 5.5 netpots make sure to place the roots at the bottom then fill in with hydrotron. You can hand water for first couple days. I start my seeds and clones in vermiculite. It's easier to transfer the girls out of and into the netpot.

Can I join the:

Deep Water Cooler club ! lol

I like the fact I made that up just now...............lmao

Mine are 45L / 11.9gal and I bought/made 2 of them.

Yo FG!

Where'd you learn that lil' trick?
Remember to slant your pencil when poking holes for air line. Don't do it straight up and down.

I just laid two girls:clap:

Training commences.
2" an hour the screen gets lowered to prevent any snapping. When it's level it gets secured to the floor.

60 days to harvest.
Two more girls in two weeks.
and every two weeks til I fill her up.

I picked that up from Professor Boomer ! lmao

Need to figure out how you connected that hose to the drain plug. Help !?
Do you then use a pump to drain the old nute mix via that hose?
I could use a wet/dry shop vac !?

I am stoned and confused, it's almost nap time, sorry.

I thought I saw a pic from you with the Coleman Coolers?
I'm not sure but if they are colemans I have failed you.

Colemans have a snap in drain plug. Not a garden hose ready male adapter.

Igloos are the only ones to my limited knowledge that offer this feature.

Correct me if I am wrong.

No Coleman's !
I paid attention in class ! lmao
First 3 pics show "Igloo", like the professor stated.

I'll use my left styro insul for the bottom too.
By the way, my 4ft x 8ft (2 inches thick) cost $24/sheet at Lowes. That was enough for 4 lids, so I have 2 spare lids now and I like that.
I could run 3 - 5in pots per lid, but will stick with 2 for now.

Say Boomer, u should do a thread on SCROG'ing !
U clearly have it down pat !
My last grow, that I made my current grow beans out of, was a SCROG too.

Sorry, i'm dazed and condused this time of day,,,

Ok back to Loweskis you go.

Wait, wait, wait.......

Look at yer Igloo drain. It fits a garden hose.
quick connects at loweskis on the Garden hose shelf.

Igloo is male. Get a female/female connectiong hose

oh man I'm fading fest bare me

I can't take pics cause both labs are datk now.

I'mm so tried i can barely see.......

I will com back later with a step by strp by stp

dont know if my drain is threaded. just know I have one.
you get your rest and I will let you know in about 6-7hrs when I get home from the beach

Have enjoyed thread. I wanted to use this method or aero but went with flood and drain instead because I couldn't figure out how to handle the res changing with this method. You have provided the answer. I successfully grew a crop but did have res temps in the low 80sF at the end.

Well, thank you.

It may not be the end all of end all's, but it's put an end to my water temp problems.........

OK.

Here they come.

I even left the TAGS on for you! Am I nice or am I nice, I ask?

Sorry it took so long. I don't have a sleep pattern anymore
and when I stay up for thirty some hours I get whacky.

Had a nap, had some herring. We're ready to go again.

Hey Integra21!

I'm catching on to the Macro thingamajig,,,,,,,I think, er hope?
