in a couple weeks i will begin growing...

if possible i needed some advice about my setup, here is the scenario:
i have finally managed to get a little time at home from work, and now i should be able to pick up my clones. i have the above pictured closet, and a second one with a t5 light for mother/clone. i am planning on picking up four clones to put in my cooler, and two others for mothers that i will put in dirt pots. the cooler setup i was just wondering about starting out with new clones, should i fill my cooler all the way with water and no nutes, and then gradually raise ppm based on feeding schedule? also, if i have the water almost touching the rocks with that be bad? also will i have to hand water them for more than a few days? i had read countless threads on everything here, but i just want to know from someone who is doing this setup for sure. i'm not sure yet if the clones will be rockwool, or dirt yet. i expect them to be rooted a bit, and expect to have to transplant them to hydroton (5.5" netpots). is there anything i should expect or be careful to do, aside from common sense things like being gentle on the roots?
boomer, i was wondering if there is anything you do to attempt to seal the area where the styrofoam and cooler meet. i was just wondering as i havent checked to see if water would run down the sides from bubbles splashing water up.
sorry for the back to back posting by the way, i figured i would have to bump to get an answer =-D
Have enjoyed thread. I wanted to use this method or aero but went with flood and drain instead because I couldn't figure out how to handle the res changing with this method. You have provided the answer. I successfully grew a crop but did have res temps in the low 80sF at the end.
Say Boomer, u should do a thread on SCROG'ing !
U clearly have it down pat !
My last grow, that I made my current grow beans out of, was a SCROG too.
