Best 300w led...advise

3x3 is 9 sq/ft you need a minimum of 270 watts of led. But that's bare minimum. I would go 40-50 per sq/ft. But the one posted above the hlg300 will crush a 3x3.

Remember just bc it says 300 watt led light. Doesn't mean it's a 300 watt light. You need to look actual wall drawl. Most 300 watt lights online are 200 or under. Like mars, Viparspectra, bloomspect ect. ECT. Ect.

I'd recommend Mars Hydro 300w LED.suitable for your tent and really perfect for a first timer.
Honestly?
That fixture pulls 130(?)W from the wall and might cover 2 sq/ft of footprint. At bare minimum using a blurple style, I'd shoot for 300W of actual power. If you want to use a more efficient led then slightly less power will cover it.

In my humble opinion I would say to get two MarsHydro 300W LED lights for that grow space. A 2x4 tent would probably be better shaped for the two light setup though. You can get two MarsHydro lights for the price of one high end 300W LED and in my experience it will do better. In my 4x4 tent I have four 300W MarsHydro and my friends are amazed at the yields I get with these cheaper lights. I have a theory that multiple small LED's do a better job of getting light to the plants since its coming down at different angles. Many expert growers think that LED's don't give a good yield and I think its because having one powerful light in the middle of your tent doesn't do a good job penetrating the canopy.

What are you calling a good yield for that tent? Similar setup with white COBs @600w I have seen over 2 pounds.
I use a rotation so I have two sets of plants in my flower tent at any given time. I usually harvest 13-16 oz dry weight per harvest. So, I get up to a pound dry weight from a 2x4 area. I'm not saying my setup is the best, I'm just saying its a perfect fit for beginners.

1 quality LED > 2 Mars

All day long.
Have you done an actual side by side comparison? I have done one and that was not the case. I'm not saying Mars Hydro is the best I'm just saying that people on this site who spend twice as much on their setup do not produce twice the yield and twice the quality. I'm not saying others advice is wrong, I'm just providing the person who asked the question a cheap and simple option that might be best.

It's not necessary. You can accurately determine the efficiency of a given light and go from there. Cheap blurples like Mars are about as efficient as standard HID lighting, watt for watt.

The difference in yield after just one run will more than pay for the light.

Not saying mars is the best either but the proof is in the pudding...check out my signature to see my grows or YouTube....you be the judge. I have averaged .69-.78 watts per gram at a cost of $60 per light

Having said that I’m upgrading both my mars which have been running nonstop since Fall of 2015...in that time I’ve harvested over 30 plants with no issues.

I’m now going to the Quatum boards, 4 60 watter dimmed to 50% Power
