I do believe it was Red, who tried to argue with me that the Sun is not the closest star to the Earth. He referred to it as Sol, lol.

Yes, its the root word in solar, as in solar system. And Spanish for Sun.
Referring to it as sol doesn't negate the fact that it is a star; the closest star to planet Earth.
