I am in the same boat as you... I am getting anxious to chop one girl thats huge because of smell. I have no room in my smell free grow room because she is a good 14" taller than the rest.

I remember reading that the bud will lose 75% of it's weight, that little bud weighed 32gs, so i figured it would weigh around 8 when it's dried. It weighs 8.2 today, would now be the time to jar it up?

I took a sample bud from my tallest huckleberry drying.... It grinded up with ease, and wow... I had no idea it would smell this good without being cured.

The stems are really stiff, but they still bend with a crack

How long does it usually take for bud to dry? They've only been drying for about 3 days and they feel crispy and spongey.

Depends on a few factors. Humidity, temp, how dense the buds were. You want to try and prolong the drying period as long as you can to get the best quality out of your buds. Once they are overdry there is no curing them, you are better off to star the cure a little early and when they moisten back up in the jar just dump them out for a bit, then back in the jar and repeat.

I have some Hindu skunk I grew in 2010, it's just so fine easy and tasty.
I only break it out a little at a time.

From an ounce to an quad :(

If I was you, I wouldnt even bother curing. I'd just wait till its dry then smoke it while the other stuff gets harvested/dried/cured.

That little fella is my favorite :(. I wanna cure her up real good to see if i can get the fruity pebble smell in the bag it came from :D.

So basically it's better to cure early then late? So i guess i should jar mine up.... I wanna try and keep that little plant all together, but cut all the others up into smaller buds. I actually started curing some that were a lot more dry then the others, the Northern Lights i jarred up smells like hay and pine-sol or some sort of cleaning chemical. i had the top bud of the tallest Huckleberry and the lower buds jarred up, and it smelled really gnarly honestly..... So i hung the larger bud back up and kept the smaller buds in it. What is it that i smelt? I think it was just not dry enough when i jarred it.

I wouldn't start curing the buds until the stems snap.......If you do it early you increase your chances of mold

Well now I'm just confused :(. I jarred up all my pre-mature buds last night, they don't smell moldy so that's good . Gonna leave them open for like 2 hours to make sure.

I had to cut the little girl in half, she wouldn't fit in the jar :(. In total all my plants weighed out to about 36gs. got pics n shit in the thread linked in my signature if anyone wants to see :):peace:

I also started curing all of them, the tallest northern lights i was checkin to see if it was dry, so i was bending the very tippy top bud and it just crumbled right off, that to me was an indication to toss them in jars.
