The good thing about beer is that there are plenty of options for everyone's tastes. I don't think it's a trend, at least here in the Portland area. IPA's have been popular for decades. What was a trend were all these newbie beer experts with too much money opening up brew pubs and serving Sours and Saison in wine glasses and charging $9 for less than 12 oz. The beer business is brutal and many didn't make it with the offerings they had. All I know is that the shelves are stocked with IPA's from all over the PNW and I'm extremely happy that there are so many choices.

I've never had that Boont Amber Ale but now I think my next one will be a good old Full Sail Amber Ale made in Hood River Oregon.
