Today is day 56. The day I was planning on harvesting. But you know how plans
always work out. The other day, I ended up cutting up the chicken wire so that I could pull the plants out and clean the room real good (I wish I would've thought of that a few weeks ago...). Made a good photo-op so I went ahead and did and XXL update.
One week left until HARVEST DAY!!!
Sugar Black Rose
I could never understand why they called it 'Sugar Black Rose' until recently when I notcied that the buds were putting on a reddish-purpleish hue. And I'm happy to say after a pre-harvest sample smoke that they turned out really nice and are nice and potent like I like my indicas. It's already putting me to sleep after a bowl or two. It's got a thick lung, expanding smoke that's only harsh at first because of how quick it was dried (over-night in the end of a vent duct-worked really well btw). The taste is mostly skunky, but after only a few hours cure the smells and flavors were becoming more complex with some creamyness and fruit added to the nose. It's gonna be really nice after a proper dry and cure. I could harvest it today, but since some of the other plants need more time, I'm gonna leave it too and let it get even stonier.
Northern Light Blue
After cutting them out and looking at the difference between the two plants, I realive I only have myself to blame for the one with a smaller yield. Plants #2 is just plain pretty. She filled out the whole screen and every bud is chunky and full. Plant #1 is nice but she isn't as voluptuous. The buds overall are smaller, not as thick, but still good. The buds have a blue hue anf really smell like blueberries. I haven't tested her yet but bud as drying as I type. Should know in 2-3 days whether she's finished or not. My gut tells me she need another week. And I gotta big gut. If her smoke is good, I'll probably keep this one too.

White Widow x Big Bud
This strain, bless it's heart, is a real trooper. Early samples give the impression that this is a true commercial strain. It's doesn't taste like much, and doens't smell like much, but it's strong. And not REALLY strong, but strong enough to where if your dealer had it, you wouldn't too dissapointed. It's pretty as hell, and maybe if I would've grown it better it may have come out better. Besides the samples I took were from day 38 and 42 and that's way too early. Besides, it's staeting to look like this strain might need 10 weeks. Idk if it's the genetics or the way I grew it, but it didn't really plump up like the rest of them. None of the bracts are super swollen like the NLB or the SBr. Idk, I'm gonna leave it in there another week and see how it looks. It did yield a lot more than the other plants tho. So ho[ing for strong bud. Samples are drying now so Ill know pretty soon how far along it is.
I took some Day 56 samples of all three to see how much longer they need. A small preview of what's to come.
Super Silver Haze
These are some of the cutest little sprouts I've had the pleasure of growing. So far they're nice and uniform and growing daily. They stretched a bit early on cause I didn't have a good light source right away, so I had to stake them up with some toothpicks and twine. As of today I have 11 good strong plants to work with. Some are a little slower than the others but they're still growing well, plus i ended up losing more in than I planned to. 3 didn't germinate, 5 got mauled by a mouse, and three just never grew very well. Here they are at day 18.
