Something else that is worth investigating...

Isn’t it about time to unchain yourself from your nutrient reservoir?

Introducing the AutoGrow pH Mini-Doser controller. This little beauty begins life as a simple and inexpensive nutrient pH monitor that gives you a continuous readout of your nutrient's pH levels. With standard features such as a built-in alarm, temperature compensation and an easy-to-read LCD display, the pH Mini-Doser is an excellent value.
The pH Mini-Doser may be used as a simple pH monitor or by adding solenoid valves or pumps (available as a complete kit), it becomes a fully functional dosing system. The controller senses fluctuations in pH and will add either acid or alkali (to lower or raise the pH).

One reason I didn't want to go hydro was b/c I wasn't ready to fork out cash on a good EC meter. Those things are usually a few hundred bucks, then getting your hands on all the nutes and additives. Not counting building your setup, when it's all said and done you spend a crap load on hydro. I think it's just more cost efficient to go with soil, plus I've heard people say soil yields better flavor? I guess that all depends on the grow(er).

at the risk of being called a hijacker....

So here are a few more shots of everything before I erase them all again...lol...

Thanks for the name drop and the quote Gypsy :blsmoke:.

So has there been any progress here?
I see you were wondering about utilising the exhaust fan that you already have in the room. I exhaust in a similar way by connecting my carbon filter to a hole in my ceiling with some heating duct. Heres a pic of how I did it:
