Hey people... My grandma has always swore that Banana peels are super good for her garden. Has anyone ever thrown in some peels while growing Mary-jane ? I read that they are FULL of nutrients... The question is are they the right kind for MJ

I'm with @Indacouch on this one.

I believe that you shouldn't use any uncomposted material directly in your garden. The first reason is that uncomposted material is a big welcome to mold, fungus, pests and insects that will ruin your crop. Second reason is that if the uncomposted material is directly placed into the pot, it competes for the avalable nutrients as it undergoes the composting process and it will affect your plants nutrients availability in the soil. Composting process uses huge amounts of nitrogen.

Just my opinion but now would be an excellent time to start a compost pile for next years grow. Gives plenty of time for it to break down and be good to go. Potassium (banana peels) is good for the flowering and root development.

I have a compost pile going now, planning on using a "super soil" for my plants next year. Going to go all organic and get the best possible bud that can be grown. (JMHO) Soon I will be looking for all the supplements and soil ingredients, prepping for next years garden. I already have plenty of composted horse manure.

I keep my kitchen items out of my indoor garden for best results. I've composted lemons, pine needles, bananas, melons and after they were dust I had no issues indoors.
Outdoors-is very forgiving with raw food scrapping. indoors not so much
