I wish I could like my own posts!
This scene is so goddamn good.. So underrated..
It shows the immediate transformation from adolescent admiration to adult mutual respect, the acting is completely spot on, the look in Reiko's eyes as he realizes the man who saved his life and his new Lt. is his old HS teacher, whom he thought enough about to base his decision to join the Federation and earn citizenship on.
The music tops it off. Great scene!
