Don't get your hopes up. No hate and just by looking at your profile pic I would love to try your oil but chances are most 'cannabis' competitions are rarelyyyyy judged by quality.
I don't necessarily agree with Paul Tokin from Tokin Daily but his buddy had a bho that didn't even place yet beat the competition as far as a lab test.
My point is that even if you win a competition that has however many judges, it hardly means anything.
If you like what you're smoking on good, but there's no way of pleasing everyone so even if you win there will still be plenty of haters.

True, and I own a GC! This is concentrate we're talking about, so if it doesn't get you medicated, you're obviously doing it wrong. I look for smoothness, flavor, and afterglow as markers of something I'd favor.

after reading thru 20+ pages on BHO, i cant wait to give it a try. weather attempting to make it on my own, or finding some at a FM or a few CG's that i know. and those rigs are freakin insane.

Possibly.. In my experience, rarely does everyone like the same flavor. I'm not sure if the winner would have the 'most' impressive flavor but more a flavor that the majority of people favored.
The whole idea of 'judging' cannabis is really strange..
Kind of getting side tract but WTF is up with lab testing BHO? People are just blatantly lying about their test results and it sucks because now instead of cannabinoids results helping patients, it's just a way of lying to patients. I normally try to leave room for exceptions but, there's way too many people bullshitting patients and telling them their oil is 90+% THC which is just a lie.
I mean I've been making BHO for a bit and always get a nice shatter so I'm confused by what the hell these dispensaries are selling in syringes. It's like nasty black poison that they claim to be BHO but it looks like Rick Simpson Oil. I guess I could go on and on about how dispensaries shouldn't sell under purged oil that budders up in a week but I guess I'll just stick to smoking my own stuff and relax.

I saw a show about the cannabis cup in denver on nat geo last year. They showed how one of the judges determined the best strain - take a quick hit one one strain, empty bowl, quick hit of another strain, empty bowl and so on. after seeing this I knew high times magazine had nothing valuable to offer concerning their cannabis cups in which strain I should pick next.

I thing any really fair test would take days or even weeks. I know that my favorites are the ones that impress me every time. I thing sometime when you taste a new flavor your inclined to like it a lot, but after having a jar full for a while you can really get to know it. I don't see anyway you could pick anything but the losers in competition type setting. But I would try!

ICE WAX! i never understood why people would rather smoke bho when you can make super clean ice water hash that bubbles like crazy, but to each there own. all i can say is know what your smoking, research that ish! tons of good threads on here about how to make proper bho extracts. at the end of the day butane is butane to me. no thanks

i would have to disagree about the ease of getting ice wax quality consistently. every time ive used quality material i havent had a issue. i use to use the subcool method, and that was a little more hit and miss. sometimes half melt sometimes full, mostly 3/4 though. with the gentile aggitattion from the bubble machine ive never been more impressed. its gotta be way less work, no? i was pretty medicated when i wrote that too! i dont dislike all butane extracts, but ive bought way to much bad stuff from centers around the state that look good. then again i have sensitive lungs, so moldy anything just might kill me too lol
