Autoflower Thread & Resource Guide

Hello everyone Just wanted to show my girls and see what you guys think?

I am on day 52 from seed. I have to RoadRunners and 4 Easyryders.

I am going to harvest my Roadrunners in 8 days and let the EasyRyders go about 2 more weeks.

Do they look ok for day 52?

Hey guys... how many lowriders/lowlife would fit under a 400MH/HPS in 1/2 gallon grow bags??? I have plenty of floor space and height... i just need to know how many seeds i should get... also any recommendations on seeds where the bud taste good n sweet?

dude, ur plants will get so rootbound in half gallon grow bags. im using 3 gallon bags for ever fem ak47, easy ryder, or diesel ryder. i use b'cuzz root stimulator and i think its a great product but in the 3 gallon bags when i pull the bag a bit to see the side of the soil, the roots are already down pretty far into the bag about a third of the way down and theyre only like 18 days from seed

I am only using 3 liter Soda bottles and I have not had any root bound issues.

Root bound is not a bad thing, it just means you will have to water and feed more often

My n**a KB!!! mad + rep for the info who care where its from as long as its facts. better then google'n search overload. Back'n the facts with resources. i dig that keep it real. we all can appreciate the information. Since im sure i've spent over 20+ hours researching auto flower seeds in the last 6 months which led me to reg to this forum in particular. where the hell was this thread 6 months ago? lol

now post a dam link to where you got your seeds dam it!!!! lol.. actually PM me since posting other site links are frowned upon here. wouldn't want to hear any B*tch'n.. haha
 
i wish i wouldve seen that giant beast in that small pot before i got 25 3 gallon grow bags, shouldve gone with 2 or 1 gallon :( ive always heard u want a lot of root space for autos idk if its different with the autos and regular strains but i think its in the joint doctors grow guide so idk. someone should try to do autos in small containers or if someone knows of a journal that has that, please show me a link. i am wondering how i can fit 20 plants in a 4x4 area and smaller bags would definately help
 
I have autos in 1/2 gallon grow bags ;)... check a few post up for some pictures of them... i checked the roots and they arent root bound to much... they barley touch the side of the bags

I have 2 Cali Hash I am growing with them.So just growing with a 18/6 and then 12/12. Like usual. But since they flower on any cycle then I am good.
 
for my next grow im doin 20 fem autos in a 4x4x7 tent. right now i have 3 gallon bags and round pots. wen i do my 20 fem sog i will go with 2 gallon square pots

Why are you topping auto's?? They stunt pretty easy, most auto strains are best left alone. No transplanting, root disturbance, topping, they generally only hit 14" or so, just let them go.

I tried everything I could think of to make auto;s more productive, and the best results with 4 different strains so far has been to just let them grow. Sinse they're veg stage is only like 3 weeks from seed anything you do there after is stunting flower production, you cant make up the time like you can with non-auto's..

I've learned from a lot of popcorn nugs and mini lolipops, while the control object, (untouched plant) produced 3 times more in dried wieght..

Just some thoughts.

Control object.. It shouldnt be viarible, the studies are variable, the control object should NOT be variable..

I do this with nearly every strain. I have only experimented with 4 auto strains thus far, but my results have been that any interuption of anything on autos is not advisible. the object of these plants is fastest production from seed to finish, you cant top a plant without inducing some stress, and the autos stunt easy, even if it was only for 2 or 3 days, they only have a 3 week veg window. I can post pics of a current experment...

I wanted to know what would hapen during transplanting.. I have 4 blue berry auto's tht are doing fine, the 5th one I started in a smaller net pot and then transplanted. Transplanting generally causes a little stress but they bounce back quick. Not the case with auto's, she stunted for 5 days, witch left about 7 days of veg time before flowering, she never recovered, she is flowering from ground level now, it will be a small cola for sure. The difference is now 9 inches of verticle growth.

That 3 week veg time must be perfect if you want them to finish quick and be of ample size. and I definitely wouldn't do anything during flowering becuse stunting that....wellll... obviously not good...
 
Please forgive me, but I am doing a lot of research on auto's, but couldn't read every post in this thread. Most of you grow indoors....I don't have that choice. Do auto's work as well outdoors? Will I have to do anything different?

Personally opinion is that they do great outdoors, 8-10 week maturity means less potential exposure to negative elements, along with less time to be discovered.

Negatives would be that they are low to teh ground, easier food target for critters and depending on the area you pick potential for shading from larger plants.

For outdoors I might go with a strain that has higher vertical growth, and I would sta away from fruiter smelling plants, i.e Blueberry, lemon, etc.... Just to deter animals from munching..

Havent done them outdoors, so just my opinion.
 
Yes, so many posts to get through... I tend to not open these long posts but I'm not getting a lot of responses to the AF question I posted so, if you don't mind, I will copy and paste it into here...

"Can you start flowering an auto-flower strain on 12-12 with HPS and then switch halfway through to a 24-0 schedule with a Metal Halide? Would that stress the plant too much? Anyone try this?

I was trying to think of a use for the auto-flowering strain and figured it could be useful for starting a second crop half-way through another flowering crop. Then when the first crop is done, set the lights back to 24-0 (while the auto-flowering strain is flowering) and start vegging some non-auto-flowering strains while the auto-flowering plants are finishing up. Then if everything is planned right, the auto-flowering plants will be harvested, leaving room to flower the other plants.
Weed out the males, start some more auto-flowering strains.... and repeat...

My only concern is stressing out the auto-flowering strain by the dramatic change in lighting. Surely they're still susceptible to stress and hermi-ing... no? Even though I've read that they are tougher strains than most, I was still wondering about their tendency to hermi or stall due to stress.

I'm sure some others with no separate room for vegging have thought about, and tried this."
