Good question, not sure but i know alot of the medical growers in the states putting up how to vids on youtube reccomend a 2 month veg for yeild.
for me, Ive noticed quite a few strains reach a max height in just over a month... when i say max height I mean they get to about the stated height from the breeder, say 1.5m and then slow right down.

Haha I wish bit no Im in earthworks so thats what I do all day lol.
And dez so many variables. Grow style strain etc.
Most people veg about 4 weeks and get about 4 oz per plant. You could easily get more weight with extra training etc. I have only 2 indoor grows up my sleave so far but using my method I average about 8 - 10 oz per plant with 4 weeks veg and flowie smashes that again getting like 1.5 pounds per plant.
So many variables

Agree totally on the variables, even down to globe age and cool tubing/cooling hood etc

As for organics/veganics. What are you wanting to know? I run veganics where I can. Would be happy to grab some guano though, just not blood and bone and manure from factory farms etc - they might be 'organic', just something I find a bit toxic and I don't think it deserves support from my wallet.
Subcool has his supersoil recipe, and I like that idea. Have 2 ingredients, soil concentrate and normal soil the ratio's of concentrate to normal soil is then just dependant on other variables like strain or size etc. If the nutrients run out, just top dress with the soil concentrate. link for the supersoil.
But remember the saying, go 'dro or go slow.

Hey mate, thanks for the reply. I've been down the supersoil road and decided to go a little easier due to the fact that most of my ingredients needed were just a plain pain in the arse to get a hold of. So i was wondering what brands etc you substitute for subs. Right now ive sort of applied a bit of hydro with organic and im running washed seed raising mix with trace mixed 10:3:1 with Perlite and worm castings. Aero brewing michorrizae spores with worm casting bascteria, humic acid and all the natural goodies. BAC organic molasses nutes, and a reg PK booster for now...Seems to be going well so far but I want to eventually move on to a "super soil".
If you dont mind me asking is your mix just sub's with aussie substitutes or have you come up with something else?
Agreed on the blood n bone ... not so good for inside either lol - noticed alot of outdoors guys use chook shit for the nute and well composted cow for conditioning - this could be replaced with mushy compost as far as im aware.
have you had anything shipped from ylad?

Cheers mate. Damn looks like she will be the runt of the litter then, the others in there get BIG. How tall was it at 4 wks when you flipped it? It's a little different here because she came out of a long stasis so veg time is trickier to count.

Mate with all those figures it should be easy enough with a 4wk veg. I just ran 3 differen plants in a 1.4 tent, 4wk veg roughly under 2x600w hps and the crappest one (white widow) pulled 3.5 oz. The PPP was 4.5 and the Rhino pulled a stonking 6.5 oz dry. All in hydroton.

12 inches when I flipped her. Thinking about it she may have about 2x stretch. She has nice long colas. Probably about 1x in the first 7 days then she probably stacked flowers up to another 12 inches again if that makes sense

Thats what I thought, she's at about 8 inches now, the 2 NLs are prob 11 and bushy as fuck, itching to flip and the other 2 are a little shorter than the VK but they will hit 12 inches in under a week. Might swap her out and do her in a couple of weeks, I'll wait and see for the week.

I haven't had anything shipped from ylad...those products are actually from another company that would be stocked at several other stores (like elders and farm stores etc...and probably good nurseries). So I'm sure that some place close to you can at least order it in for you.
I like the idea of the super soil and base soil, I don't actually follow his exact recipe and have substitutes. I follow the idea behind supersoil (it was basically whatever he had around at the time thrown together and it just evolved from there, trying to make a buffet for the plants). In my recipe I use rock dust, bio char (which is chicken litter and olive pips cooked at 500 in an oxygen-less environment - so not exactly veganic but that isn't the real objective) and I'm going to chuck in some Bactivate as well. Debco has organic compost and potting mix that apparently is veganic. But usually there is local business that makes their own compost etc that you could utilise rather than something from bunnings.
If you can't find worm castings locally Kookaburra worm farms sell em for $32 for 5 kilos. Bit pricey, but much better quality than what you could get from bunnings etc...
As for the fish bone meal, blood meal and guano etc, I am throwing in some alfalfa meal and some soft rock phosphate (which interestingly in some cases is ancient deposits of guano...)

home made biochar sounds interesting, do you make that yourself? I'd need to flame up a 44gal drum to make that gear - lol might not go down well in the suburbs

yeah the BAC liquid veganics uses ...
- homogenised alfalfa meal (leucerne) = N
- rock dust = P
- mixed molasses / kali vinasse = K once broken down by soil food web
- trace
Bloom = 6-5-6 Grow = 8-3-3
to this I add
- Liquid Kelp
- Mycogold
- Humic acid
So i was thinking of either your debco suggestion or black label seed raising mix,
alfalfa meal,
rock dust,
kelp powder,
worm cast,
and finally some form of K.. either a guano or maybe a greensand white ash mix?
hmm this has to be the hardest part of growing for me... moving to organic lol

hey guys just been doing some of my regular research trawling through countless hydroponics websites etc and found this interesting little tid bit that i thought i might share with you guys
commercial hydroponics farms etc quite often leave a sponge or porous bag of perlite in there res as a breeding ground for good bacteria. they recommend 1l of perlite per 20l res

oh and also as some of you may already know airstones are a very inefficient means of aerating water you are much better off using the waterfall effect or fluming to aerate water. also air stones effectiveness can be severely hampered by the salts in nutrient solutions as they tend to build up in the tiny holes.
