To properly dry 'n' cure without going into it too much....you want your buds to start their drying hanging and in a dark, FREE FLOWING AIR'd room, low humidity is a must but obviously you dont want fucking bone dry hot aussie winds to crisp dry them! when coming into the 3-7days area, you will want the buds to feel as if they are dry enough on the outside to smoke, but if you peel open you sorta know in ya heart that its still a bit damp. by bending the stem this is a great way to determine when the curing process will start. i will cann in airtight ball or mason jars till the RH (relative humidity) reaches 65%, i then burp my jars and mix the buds about, carefull not to squash the ones down the bottom, you can burp for a second or you can burp for and hour, this will all depend on exactly how damp their stems were when putting into the jars. i allow mine to get a tiny bit dryer while burping for and hour, i only do this if i want to hasten the cure, gotta be careful tho. the starches in the bud are turned into sugars while curing, it takes time, if all us growers could snap our fingers and have our buds cured and dank straight after drying then there would be an abundance of excess pot in the world......as Laceygirl said in one of her thread posts, supply and demand, tis upto you how you want your buds to turn out, if you want them to be dank and tastey for personal use--cure as long as possible....gotta sell the shit to pay the rent then dry and be done with it......tis your decision

and theres still twelve weeks roughly left here........so enough to grow a big six footer from start to finish...jus wont b mad big....in size...but have mostly bud thatl b all the plant is ..buds...n more buds...lol......done the same b4 last yr too.lol.......

yeah i thort fuck it Tezz, i coulda added a few links and what not but i couldnt be stuffed either, its all a learning process anyway, shit i never had a computrer when i started growing, made fuckloads of mistakes hahaha, google youtube and RIU is the best!

tru so ur gettn seed delivered to ur doorstep man and nothing no criminal conviction or trace or wateva they actually make it there.????????coz i can get potent exotic clones have a seed bank myself with few hundred thousand or more.......lol...n isnt that the truth man i started at sixish growing i was smoking pot around 6 n a half......n drinking.....all coz i grew up pretty much with lax rules...u already know why tho mate...n yeah u get there by making them mistakes......lol.........all a big learning experience.....i want to personally grow sum upside down crops....with that aro garden convert the fucker.......if u got to ...lol......but if u gettn seed no sweat at all cool...i might have to grab sum coz here in w.a pot is not decriminalized anymore man....thats super fucked up..they tryna put in a new law making it law to give ur lisence if u want to buy hydro equipment and i also thiink hydro fomulars....so fuck me......i hate the government.but then i dont care itll b like so ' discount hydroes u got a few hundred litres of this and that...fewof these couple of them and cool".....lol.........but i wouldnt mind tryn if u know sum one in w.a whos had luck i jus dont need the heat....if it all fucks up...for sum reason......but wouldnt mind ....seeing how pure they are....n tryn sumthin i couldnt possibly get here(which isnt alot mind u .but id give it a crack.....).....but then again i fuck with my own genes and strains....lol......i make exotic new strains all da tym.......with grafting and such tools......cross breeding
Hey mate Im from wa and have ordered seeds 3 times now and been successful, using attitude now it can take from 2-4 weeks but you get em and they got an awesome promo from 4-7 march send over 30 pound and get liek 10 free seeds plus some other shit. So even though im waiting for my Tangerine Dream im gonna get another oreder on the way on 4th march. Anyone got any good suggestions? thinking maybe a good strain for outdoors found a spot that dreams are made of

I dry my buds in a food dehydrator, 24 hours on lowest setting on for 15 mins, off for 15 mins ... lucky I have spare timers.
After about 24 hours the buds look crispy and I then put them in jars with a hygrometer. After a little while the residual moisture spreads throughout the buds and the hygrometer lets me know how much moisture is left to remove.
The last lot ended up being about 75% rel humidity once the moisture had equalised.
It is not easy to air dry buds in Queensland when the RH can be over 80% - the buds end up absorbing moisture from the air.
Once the buds have been in jars for a few hours and I know the moisture content, I then introduce sachets of silica gel and suck out the moisture until the RH is 65% ... then I just seal and leave to cure, no need to burp the jars or disturb the buds until smokin time.
When I have an abundance of buds that I want to store I will just drop the RH to 55%, seal and store.
I have found that drying with the food dehydrator produces buds that are indistinguishable from slow dried buds except that slow dried buds have a higher chance of being attacked by mould before they get to the curing stage.
The curing begins after the drying, so having an extended drying time (especially in humid conditions) seems to be a waste of time and a lengthy period when you are smelling out the neighbourhood.
Reducing the drying time to 24 hours (plus a few extra hours of silica gel work) lets me get the buds curing much earlier and therefore lets me smoke the buds much sooner.
Just a heads up, Tricka I just had a squiz at your cloner good job, I like mine though not as techinical but easy to build and clean and cost me 30 for 2, But I digress, you mention the cunt time you had cutting foam well don't bother, go to a Clark Rubber or other foam/rubber shop and ask for foam poles they come in sizes from 10mm to 300mm, and are easy to slice with a el cheapo razor with the blade fully out, cost me $9 for 2 metres and I made about 150.
Thinking about buying a bulk roll of the stuff and selling them for ~10c each, seems most people use 80mm net pots I use 50mm.
oh and my g13xhaze has popped same with ym chrystal hoping they are female as they are going to be the mums to my winter clones, as for my clones in hempy's they have exploded with crazy growth even though the cab they are in is ~35 degrees should be fine though cold snap starts in a week and a half in brissy apparently so that'll cool things down.

I just used my hacksaw as i used polystyrene not neoprene, poly only snaps or cuts with a serrated edge...i deliberately wanted to use poly because of its insulating capabilities, its the best you can get! i would like to see yours any way...pm me with a pic or link of it im interested ey'
Im gonna do another one for a trial, i will repilcate some of stink bud's idea's with it being split lids, i will also add a hinge for easy opening, im working (stoner idea thinking) on another way of delivering the sprays, im not liking the pvc pipe work as i see that it can effect pressure in a negative way, all while carrying the same volume. i want to reduce the I/D of the lines
dramatically so as to produce enough back pressure in the system to effectivally enhance the spray to a mist, now i need to do this in a way not to obstruct the intake of nutes by the plants this can be done by having a too fine of a mist, theres a happy medium somewhere and i reckon i can nail it with my idea, and the spray tips im gonna use.......anyway im rambling ahahahaha!
yeah if have the time to water a coupla times a day if needed then yeah increasing your perlite to coco ratio will allow it to drain more freely and the less coco the less water retention your pots will have.....plants love this but as you say you only wanna have to attend to them once a day. i might pop over an sub to your thread, i just ordered 10 Crystal's as well, good stuff!
As for melb's it was definately the start of autumn today, a bit chilly, i noticed my humidity crib had dropped 5 degrees to 24.3, but this is cos of my dodgy thermosat i got running my heater, its good just not precise lol......Im waiting for my 110V converter's to arrive so i can run my HUGE heat pads....got two of em!! then I'll be apples.

cos smoking my buds quicker rather than later with a nice aftertaste to it is better!P.s your Scrog's looking mighty fine
