6 pots seems like an overkill for that small space.. Have you got any pics of what that would look like during flowing stage? Cheers Lukey!!

"Newbie" question that has been on my mind over the weekend (I'm pretty sure I've asked something similar before....):

Can you successfully transfer/up-pot from a coco grow (ie. seedlings) to soil?

Hypothetically looking at starting seedlings in coco (solo cups), then transferring. Maybe better to get a bigger plant established (again in coco....say a 1Gal fabric pot?) & then doing the transfer to soil?

Any feedback gratefully received.

When I went from coco to soil I had seedlings in red cups of coco and transferred those to soil, with out issue. I just don’t see the need to grow in coco again then to soil. I would just do one medium personally but I’m sure you could do it with results

Thanks for the feedback mate, it's just the way my mind is working right now (overdrive!).

As you would've gleaned from the "snow" photo, I have a very short growing season. I can get stuff going indoors in a tent, but want to take advantage of that big yellow ball in the sky as much as I can.....

My soil patch is in serious need of amendment/improvement, but I don't know if I have the time available to prepare it for the OD season with organics without creating something that's going to be too "hot" to plant into directly from coco. I figured that a larger plant would survive a transfer better than a small one?

'Dunno, just fucking-around with possibilities right now....

They transplant easily, small or large.
Id suggest going two ways. The Coco route but also get a bag or two of Canna Terra (about $50 a bag and available from ur local hydro dealer) add 1/3 Perlite (landscape or hydro place) and grab a bottle of Canna terra one part Veg nutrient. They do a one part flower nutrient to but grab that if u get that far.
Run both systems and see which one you prefer. Coco should grow u a faster plant but the Canna terra one should be less hassle. Get to work this summer preparing the bed for next season.
Look at fast flowering and finishing strains, most of those large donkey dick buds run long and can attract mould late in the season, often not as dense as the smaller flowers either. Maybe look into "light dep" to instigate flowering earlier than nature intends to, easy to do in that green house.
Cheap LED solar lights means u can start/transfer outside earlier than most think.

@Lucky Luke. Thanks! Now..y'see, THIS is why I came here in the first place: to get feedback & suggestions from people who've been doing this stuff for awhile & will happily share their experience, saving me a lot of heartache (& $'s) learning from my own fuck-ups.

They transplant easily, small or large. Good to know for future endeavours!

Just so we're on the same page here..I'm looking at doing a heap of seeds & different strains. You're suggesting:

1. Start everything in coco in solo cups in the Canna Terra Coco. Feed with the 1-part veg. nute.

2. Transfer some to soil & some to larger fabric pots filled with the Canna Terra coco (in the greenhouse) & feed them with the 1-part nutes to maturity (veg/flower).

Am I reading you right?

Ironically, that's what I told myself at the end of last year's OD & then got an attack of the CBF's:wall:

Yeah, I've seen vid's of folks covering their greenhouses in opaque/black plastic to achieve that, but I have a job that won't allow me that much time/effort each day & I basically do this myself (SWMBO doesn't/won't help:().

Aha! A nugget of GOLD! I'd already thought of setting-up my small/shitty Viparspectra lights in the greenhouse to supplement natural daylight on a timer, but was worried about temperature & humidity affecting them & voiding any warranty. I'll look into it. Thanks!

Edit: BTW, that greenhouse is an absolute dog's breakfast.

Inside, the weeds are growing madly around the chilli pots I've tried to over-winter (unsuccessfully). I guess they're enjoying all the nutes I gave the pots from last year & went to runoff.

Structurally, it's fucked. High winds ripped the cover off the frame last summer & snapped the frame. I had to individually cut-down each upright to get the cover to "fit" the frame again. Royal PITA.

I've got another one ready to go this year, as I reckon this one won't last another season:cry:

No, Canna Terra Professional is a peat based potting mix so run a plant/s in that and run Plant/s in Coco.
Canna terra is a nutrient designed for the canna terra professional.
Sorry if I confused you. http://www.canna.com.au/products

Start em how u like. Once they are seedlings up pot to coco and also up pot some to Canna Terra. Keep them in their own mediums there after.
