Happy New Year peps, can anyone tell me when I can expect my outdoor plants to flower? I’m in Melbourne.
23 March is when you'll have natural 12/12 daylight hours.

Things will vary a bit depending on your plants location{*}, and direct sunlight, but you can expect start of flowering some time in March.

{*}
edit: I just saw the balcony comment now ... so that location will shave an hour or so off your direct light. Revise the effective 12/12 by a few weeks then. I'd say the window will be mid Feb to early March for final stretch and start of bud proper.

They are getting 12 hours of direct sunlight at the mo…7.30am to 7.30pm. If they don’t flower till feb/march I’ll have 10 footers!

I don’t think they will flower that late, it’s not as if there isn’t light just cause there isn’t direct sunlight. Form everything I’ve read they will flower end of Jan.
Yes, you're right. Lots of variables to juggle here. Natural sunlight changes slowly, not like instantaneously "flipping" to 12/12 in an indoor environment. Even in an indoor environment, there's a "transition" period into flower.

Just 'cos they START flowering at the end of Jan., that's just the START of flowering. There's several weeks/months left to go & the transition takes time to evolve.

Seriously, mate. Stop worrying about this stuff & just sit-back with a couple of beers & watch your girls do their thing whilst you enjoy the journey. It's seriously wonderful to watch, but I understand that it takes extreme patience on your first one.....

Make sure you post updates here as it happens for you. Daily would be a PITA, but every couple of weeks is fine.

Cool, thanks. Not stressing at all (now I’ve got the height issue sorted). I am expecting vapeable bud by early May…that’s when my Oxy runs out!!

Agree with the above but would add the sage advice of the late FZ.

Call any vegetable
Call it by name
You've gotta call one today
When you get off the train
Call any vegetable
And the chances are good
Oh, that the vegetable will respond to you
Oh no, can you see them responding
The pumpkin is breathing hard

My sister was on Oxy for 20+ years & I now supply her with cannacaps, 600 at a time. She's cut-back considerably since I started doing it.

I feel for you. Anything that works for you.......

Oxy is King! Absolutely love it…the only problems is access, other than that it’s a clean, beautiful kiss that lasts 8 hours. Been on it recreationally for a couple of years but now my source I has dried up. That’s why I planted the girls, as a transition off Oxy…and I like being a stoner!

I was prescribed it 6 months ago when I smashed my collar bone into 3 pieces. Yeah, it worked for pain relief in the short-term, but it just turned me into an absolute fucking zombie. 'Couldn't think, 'couldn't read a book, 'couldn't string a coherent sentence together. It was fucking AWFUL!
I couldn't wait to get off the shit & asked for Codeine instead.

Don't get me wrong - I'm very partial to weed too & enjoy what it does for me, but that stuff just goes too far.

Your revelation puts things into a differerent perspective & I wholeheartedly wish you well on your journey to get off that shit.

Thanks Terry, I appreciate that and all the growing advice. You’re one of the good ones!

Also agree with Terry re: oxy. I was misdiagnosed with cancer 10 years ago and had chronic pain due to nerve damage associated with surgery.
I was on oxy for 8 months. Totally took the pain away but turned me into a zombie. Amazing I never killed myself or others driving to and from work on it. My doctor was happy for me to be on it forever but I ended up cold turkeying to get off it. Hard work but worth it. Got my life back and just had to get used to the pain and also to actually find out what the pain actually was. Couldn't smoke pot as I was drug tested at work. Probably drank a little occasionally ..... I can see the appreciation of the stone it gives you, don't get me wrong. But I see a lot of negatives in getting addicted to it.
Pot is much better for you. IMO.

Weekly update:
8 weeks now since flip. Chiquita Banana fems from WSE. Starting to bulk up a bit. Flowers not that big but lots of them and they are getting very hard and dense. Can't seem to do much about the yellowing of leaves. It's worse in the 2 x 3 gallon pots in the centre. Still feeding but doesn't seem to have much effect. I'm thinking 2 weeks to go. Any opinions on that ?
