Can someone explain how the moonlight at night when growing outdoors doesnt mess the plant, given the importance of having a light tight room or tent when growing indoors. The full moon is pretty fucking bright.
3 reasons.

1)the moon has phases so the amount of light varies (not to mention things like cloud cover etc)
2) lights inside are generally higher intensity than moonlight
3) light leaks aren’t as big of an issue as they’re made out to be. What most people pass off as light leaks is just bad genetics

Great input from everyone cheers. Power outages on a RDWC would certainly fuk things up abit an something i hadn considered much any sugestions on ways around that apart from a generator?. @OzyM8 Your setup sounds good an keepin the coco soaked with 4 or 5 feeds a day would be more forgiving if pwr outtage occured but if your getting little to fuk all runoff there wldn be much need to have it on a recirculatin system though? theres just something about RDWC thats grabs me
I had one approx 24hr power outage while in flower in my RWDC sys and there was no prob at all.
But I was anxious during that time and wouldn't want to go any longer.
I never had backup gen but I'm in the burbs and the power is quite reliable.

Maybe that would be enough to make some freak out? I just know that wee factoid about the moon and nothing further lol.
Its light enough to easily and comfortably walk around at night here with a full moon or even on a clear night (stars add up..) but lightening can turn the night into daylight and plants would of adapted. Im not a big believer in light leaks causing hermies. It may slow the flowering process down though.

Dwc is fairly safe in a power outage. The roots are still submerged in water. More of a problem with aeroponics and drip feed systems etc

'Got kinda busy today..
Put another IB clone in the ground. This one is just going to be left to its own devices (ie. no caging) to see how it compares to the others out there). This is after I pulled 8 clones off her

Pulled the IB & Gelato OG clones out of the tent (they were about to explode on 18/6) & put them in the greenhouse for some extra breathing space.

Not bad, considering Dusty didn't think it'd survive & I also took another 8 clones off her before the photo was taken.

Up-potted the chilli seedlings into 1-gal fabrics that I'm going to keep in Coco. Still got another 16 or so to get through..DSCN2210.JPG

This IB has been defoliated before I started spraying CS on a single branch & gave her the space to produce seeds inside the tent.

Now I have to manage all this lot without having a conniption.

Edit: @beernutz, you said you were after bulk IB seeds. I think I might be able to help you out there....

until you drown the plants.
Yeah it is possible. I think about 8 hours is safe.
Then if your worried you can change the water and get another 8 hours i suppose.

Power outages usually dont last that long where i am but im not rural or anything.

I did have a 3 day outage in one particularly bad storm season but i was in coco and they pretty much stopped drinking without the lights so it wasnt an issue. They did struggle without light fir 3 days though. Started trying to shoot pure white shoots
