anyone here growing in coco ? i just put together a new hydro setup and i dont have a clue how often to water, and i have 1 of those light timer switches that work in 15minute intervals at the minimun , is 15 mins feeding/water to long ? + rep

With coco, it retains ridiculous amounts of water, I grew in coco no so long ago and I drowned my plants... Only water them two times a day for 15 mins, then knock it back to once a day... It will feel a little weird if you are used to watering for 15 mins every hour like I am, but trust me, coco holds amazing amounts of water, underwatering is easier to fix than overwatering...

just be careful with coco coz you need to water it a little extra for the first day or two and then less it depends what coco yer using and what ratio of perlite n shit you got mixed in too. mine drains fast as hell so i water it extra for the first week and then it holds a little better

15 min is way to long.. You will, as Lacey said, drown ur plants. The Plant's tap root is actually there for oxygen not water, so when u sumberge it in water for 15minutes, then u are cutting off oxygen for 15minutes. Best bet - go buy urself a digital timer and set for 2-3 minute intervals 2-3 times a day (you be the judge of what the plant needs). This will ensure good amounts of nutes, along with good oxygen.

Not enough to kill it, but enough so that it reduces & stunts growth. I used to do 15 min 3 times a day - way to much. Got given the advice to cut the watering back, and i've noticed about double the growth rate and better yields, bigger and healthier roots, etc.
I have a question of my own for the Bubbleheads here..
I've got a RDWC setup, and i am getting random leaves dying off?! Some get little brown marks randomly on the leaves, others just die.
Everything runs ok EC & PH wise, but perhaps i'm failing to give it something? I thought i'd ask u guys as i know with DWC you really do need to provide absolutely everything it needs. I was thinking Cal-Mag?
Oh, and the Nutes have been my left-over Coco A & B as i wanted to use em up b4 i got Hydro 1's. Hence i think another reason i've left something out..
